Saturday 28th May will see another fantastic five formula line up on offer, with a bit of everything!
The 1600 Bangers will certainly provide their fair share of action, with contacted expected throughout the event! A number of English based drivers will make the trip north to support the formula, whilst a few local drivers are also expected to be in attendance, with mid-teens expected car number wise. Craig Royal will lead the charge, whilst Dylan Ward will also be looking to pick up a few good results on the night.
The CC Rods have been a mainstay in the HRP fixture list, and are a formula that have gone from strength to strength over the years. This year in particular has seen a regular turn out of just under 20 cars, with some brilliant racing, and a few hicups along the way to keep everyone on their toes! Becoming a crowd favourite due to the close nature of the racing, it is a formula that isn't to be sniffed at. Kyle Hutchison, Kevin Hutchison, Lee Scott and the likes of Chris Hutchison have all had a great season to date, with all drivers scoring consistently well. Up front, Mirran Adams and David Dignan have been upping the ante, with both drivers managing to secure some great results this season, with Mirran picking up a race win recently as well. Graham Campbell looks to have found good form as well, with steady top 5 finishes becoming a normality for him.
The National Hot Rods contest in their 11th round of the campaign - with Ross McWilliam currently leading the way, though Roy Anderson isn't totally out of the running. James Mooney has seen his form improve greatly over the last 12 months, and is up there competing for the top 3 places in the series as a result of his efforts. Marc Spence, John Maver and Matt MacPherson have all become regulars in the Scottish series, and should all be with us again this Saturday night. There is also visiting interest in the Nationals, as World Champion Robert McDonald and Gordon Alexander are both booked in to join us as well, bolstering the grid somewhat.
The Ninja Karts are with us for the second week in succession, following an excellent night of racing last weekend for the youngsters. The 6-11 year old drivers never fail to entertain and we have no doubt Saturday will be no exception. A number of English based drivers are again expected to be with us, with Jack Jones, Jenson Fish and Steen-Junior Rozier all looking to join us. Last weekend Dougie Kidd was in great form, as he raced to a hat-trick of victories, whilst Jayden Lee Jeffrey took his first win in the formula in the whites and yellows race.
The Superstox are the final formula in attendance this weekend, and should see another good field of cars. Paul Mackie looks set to make a return to racing having sat out the last few years. Bryan Forrest, Aaron Riddell and Dean Johnston will be looking to have some more brilliant racing, alike the last time the trio were on track a couple of weeks ago. The bumpers will be used, but it isn't all about fencing the opposition, its about racecraft and getting through the pack as quickly as possible as the drivers look to score as much points as possible. A formula that is certainly on the rise, it looks like it could be another exciting night of racing!
