Friday Night Action

Join Our Facebook Event This Friday night will see some fast and furious racing at Lochgelly Raceway - with a 7pm start time - it will be a quick turnaround in our three formula line up.

The Back 2 Basics Bangers are in action for the third time in 2021 - and for a first time on a Friday night. The formula has steadily grown in stature in the last 12-18 months since it was re-introduced at Lochgelly Raceway. A number of new drivers have came into the formula to try their hand at banger racing at an affordable cost, whilst some of the more regular drivers have also participated for some light hearted fun racing in the quick and easy to build cars. 2 Nudge and Spin heats will proceed a full contact final which should be followed by a Demolition Derby.

The Superstox are in action and we welcome visiting driver Gary Chisolm to Lochgelly Raceway, in what is his first outing at the track. The Superstox have provided some competitive racing in 2021 already, with a number of lower graded drivers stepping up and stealing the plaudits from those further back. Bryan Forrest has been in super form though, and scooped a hat-trick of race wins at the last outing just a couple of weeks ago. Dean Johnston seems to be getting his new car up to pace, and put in his best performance of the season last time out - can he get more out of it on Friday night?

The 2.0 Hot Rods are with us for the 2nd week in succession as the battle goes on for the fight in the National Points Championship. Cameron Willacy currently leads the way, but Kevin Stewart, Scott Devine and Gerry Hendry are all within touching distance and any of them could come out victorious - this is the last meeting in the battle for the National Points Champisonship!! Greg Honeyman will find himself starting from blue grade having won 2 races last weekend and as such, elevated up a grade, whilst James Mooney is also expected to make an outing in the 2.0 Hot Rod class.

Important Information
Due to a large event at Driftland this weekend, we ask spectators to arrive at the track and park ON the Driftland track rather than in the main car park, from their you will be required to walk to the reception to pay your entree fees. Anyone attending for trackside parking, should make their way to the main gate next to the reception to pay for their party and car. Please ensure you wear a face covering when entering the reception area, and scan one of the QR codes to upload your details for track and trace.

Any mechanics arriving separately from their race team, are on this occasion, asked to park on the hard standing area of the pits.

Important Driver Information
Drivers are asked to pay for admissions from the sign in hut adjacent to the scrutineering shed. Only 1 driver in the office at a time, and you must wear a face covering. Please ensure you scan the QR code to upload your details for track and trace.

Drivers are reminded that they must remain within their race vehicles at all times when on track, and must not exit the car without permission. Likewise, drivers must not overtake the pace car without permission, or drive into or through the center area of the track.
