Rod Frenzy at HRP
We are back at Lochgelly Raceway for another action packed evening of racing, and a night that will be a joy for those of you who enjoy non-contact racing, with 4 of the 5 formula being ‘non-contact’.

The Superstox will provide the contact racing on the night, as we welcome Craig McConnell from Northern Ireland with us. Ciaran Adams is expected to return to action in his re-worked car, which we understand looks excellent. Dean Johnston took a heat and final double last weekend as he looks to move clear in the National Points, whilst Bryan Forrest also made a welcome return last weekend. Bryan isn’t currently booked in, though that may change before the weekend – keep an eye on our booking list for updates!

The 2.0 Hot Rods have another strong turnout of cars, with Drew McKeown making the trip across the Irish Sea to be with us as well. McKeown has already attended HRP Lochgelly Raceway this year, and had a lot of success on that occasion. He will be looking for more success this Saturday night. Keith Chesher makes an appearance in the Kevin Stewart car, whilst Stuart MacDonald, Andy Adams, Josh Duff and Wullie Hill all make their second appearance of the season. World Champion James Morris is again with us, whilst National Points Champion Cameron Willacy and Scottish Champion Jason Secker will also be on the grid.

The CC Rods have had an excellent start to the 2022 campaign, with some great racing, and some intriguing battles throughout the pack. Kyle Hutchison, Lee Scott and Chris Hutchison have looked to be some of the quickest cars on track, though with a fairly evenly matched grid of cars, overtaking has been difficult at times, with a lot of exciting door to door racing. Kevin Hutchison has been getting quicker with each passing meeting having started the season off slowly, and will look to be in the hunt for trophies again this weekend. Emma Kirk is set to make her first appearance of the season in another well presented car. Graham Campbell has found good pace of late, and has picked up some good positions, a run of form that he will be hoping to maintain on Saturday. Mirran Adams has took to her Mini CC Rod like a duck to water, and has grown in stature with each passing meeting, accumulating in an excellent race win a couple of weeks ago – can she get another on Saturday?

The Junior Productions are with us again, in what is the final meeting on the old Kingstar tyres before the mandatory change over at the British Championship in Northern Ireland later this month. Jase Walle, Koddi Wright and Jack MacLeod have been the consistent drivers so far this season, though there has been a lot of strong performances from the likes of Jack Baird, Kaitlyn Smart and James Slater. The youngsters have upped their game this year, and have become a formula that everyone enjoy’s watching. The mix of experience on track often allows for some nail-biting action, with drivers taking various different lines around the raceway.

The National Hot Rods contest in the latest round of the World Qualifying Series. Ross McWilliam leads the way, though the places further behind are less certain. James Mooney, Roy Anderson, Marc Spence to name a few will all likely be with us this weekend as they look to move up the rankings in the quest for World Qualification. Steven Armit and Matt McPherson are both expected to be with us, whilst Darren Scott and Ross Alexander continue their development in the formula. Scottish based Gordon Alexander is set to compete as a visiting driver this weekend.

Join us on Saturday – First race, 5.30pm!
