Saturday 29th August Saturday 29th August Saturday 29th August
Lochgelly Raceway hosts another fantastic four formula line up with a mix of contact and non-contact racing. The Ministox, Back 2 Basics Bangers, 2.0 Hot Rods and CC Rods all feature.

The Ministox are back with us with another great set of numbers, with already 25 drivers booked into race, with a few more expected. The youngsters never fail to disappoint here at Lochgelly Raceway and this Saturday night certainly will be no different. Its the final event before the September gradings take effect, and with Ryan Borthwick and Charlie Hardie gaining the Silver Stripe status for September, both will be looking to score highly on Saturday night before moving back the grid! Both drivers have been in excellent form since the season restarted, with several podium finishes between them. Lewis Burgoyne is another driver who was in great form last time out - taking away a handy 24 points on that occasion. Lewis will be looking to emulate that sort of form on Saturday evening. Kyle Rogerson and Mirran Adams have both came on extraordinarily well in the last few meetings, with both of the white roof graded drivers scoring points and coming close to being elevated up to yellow grade. Robbie Armit and Scott Allardyce have both had a mixed bag of luck in 2020, with both drivers losing out to spin outs and DNF\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s in the last couple of meetings, although this has deterred neither of them as they keep coming back for more! Can there luck change this Saturday? There is only one way to find out.. Be there!

The Back 2 Basics Banger numbers have been creeping up slowly over the course of the week, and with more drivers already booked in than we had a few weeks ago, the formula certainly does seem to be encouraging a number of new comers into the sport, exactly as it is designed to do. Although a few regular banger drivers are on the list, its great to see a number of names that are relatively unheard of. The first 2 races for the B2B class are restricted to just nudge and spin, although the meeting final is opened up to normal banger racing rules, which should see the majority of the cars survive the night and make it out for the meeting final. It is hoped that the numbers will continue to pick up over the course of the next couple of days and we will see mid-high teens in attendance.

The 2.0 Hot Rods are back with us, and have provided some excellent racing in there couple of outings since racing resumed. It was great to have a couple of visitors last time out. Domestically though, there is a reasonable amount of equally matched cars to make good close, competitive racing. The 2.0 Hot Rod class in its current status, has seen no single driver look like they are going to dominate the formula which is always a good sign as every driver out there will know they have a great chance of taking away some trophies!

The CC Rod formula is one that HRP are proud off, and a formula that has gone from strength to strength over the last few years with a solid core of drivers attending the majority of meetings. Although this season has been hampered somewhat, the CC Rod class have continued to provide some nail biting action since things re-started. Brian Allen and Brandon Gourlay have shown good pace, though have struggled to catch / stay with the likes of Paul Bell and Ryan Cameron out in front through the heats - can they make any inroads this time out? Lee Wotherspoon will be hoping for a change of fortunes after a disastrous time out last time, by his standards anyway. Steven Duffy will be making his debut in the class on Saturday as he joins the ranks in the ex Dylan Coutts car.

Spectator (Drive In Viewing) gates will open approx 4pm. Please note, face coverings must be worn whilst outside your vehicle for any reason.
