Saturday 8th May
After a fantastic start to the season last weekend, we are back again with another round of formula set out to entertain.
The eagerly anticipated 1300 Stock Cars will be out in force a strong field of cars expected – Andrew and Euan Mathieson will both be on track as they look to climb up the rankings in search of a place at the British Championship at Kings Lynn. The competition is fierce however, with Scott Lindsell, Kyle Hegg and Jamie Stewart all in contention for one of the seven allocated places that HRP have been given for the event! Darren Rae has looked quick in the practice sessions and will certainly be one to watch out for on Saturday night as he makes his return to 1300 Stock Car action. Declan Flynn, Gareth Borthwick and Callum Sturrock are amongst the newcomers that are already booked in to participate in this event, whilst Daniel Hansford will also join us. With an expected influx of bookings over the next 24 hours, we anticipate that at least another 10 cars will be added to the booking list in what should be an action packed night of racing for the 1300 Stock Cars.

The National Hot Rods make their 2021 debut at Lochgelly Raceway, just a few weeks away from the European Championship that will be held here on the 22nd and 23rd May weekend. Jason Kew and Adam Hylands are both booked in to join us as they look to get a little bit of practice ahead of the big weekend. Scottish based drivers Ross McWilliam, James Mooney, Gordon Alexander, John Sibbald and World Champion Robert McDonald will all join the grid.

The National Micro Bangers never fail to entertain at Lochgelly Raceway, and with a host of travelling drivers booked to race including the likes of Joey Reynolds, there is a lot of quality on the grid. At the time of writing, only Callum Campbell, Lee Clarke, John Paton and Fraser Anderson are booked in representing the home nation – They’ll have there work cut out take away any trophies this week, though may go out and put on a show! It is expected a further few drivers will join us on track as we look to hit over 20 cars for this domestic event.

The Stock Rods provided a lot of excellent racing in 2020 despite the conditions, and that trend looks set to continue into 2021, with a host of new drivers joining the ranks – Craig Harrison, Robbie Hamilton, Harvey Sneddon, Craig Watson, Stewart Aitken and Paul Bell are all new to the 2021 HRP Stock Rod scene with a number of these drivers booked to participate at the opening event. Jack Storey will join us from Spedeworth as he looks to get a bit of track familiarisation ahead of the Lee Smart Racing Stock Rod European Championship to be held here at the beginning of June. Clayton Mallett is a new driver to the formula, who will also be making his debut in the class this Saturday night! Chris Lattka and Siobhan Martin have been the top 2 contenders over the last few years, though Jim Pitcaithly, Darren McAlpine and Gary Dean have all shown pace and relative consistency to compete with the top 2 on there day. David Crichton and Stewart Paterson will both be looking to hit the ground running as well, as they looked to cement there places in the top few places of the National Points Charts. Further down the grid, Paul Wilson, Paul Bell and Stewart Aitken will be hoping to come away with a haul of points and keep the drivers behind at bay for as long as possible!

The UKMC Sponsored Ninja Karts are never short of thrills and spills and with a host of newcomers into the formula, it looks set to become another entertaining season for the youngsters. Louie Hendry, Layton Cairns, Rayah Burns, Calvin Courts, Connor Anderson and Josh Duffy are amongst the new drivers that are booked to participate in our season opener, whilst Toby Tyson, Aiden Duffy, Hamish Plenderleith, Kenzie Kopacz and Aiden Duffy will be seen as the experienced drivers on track now – all these drivers will be looking to get a decent haul of points, and trophies on the night – though, with Finley Kew, Clark Ferris and Leyton Hughes expected to join us – the races could be a little more difficult than anticipated for the HRP star graded drivers! This crop of youngsters will certainly test your nerves!!!

The Ministox are the final formula in action this weekend. The Ministox have been the stand out formula over the last few seasons with consistently large grids of cars, and lots of excellent on track racing. Robbie Armit has started the season off well with a few wins at Crimond over the last few weeks, whilst Scott Allardyce and Charlie Hardie have also looked quick both at Crimond, and at our pre-season practice events. Lewis Burgoyne has shown great pace at Lochgelly over the last 12 months or so, and will again be hoping to be one of the front runners for the duration of the 2021 campaign. Rachel Kidd is booked to race, despite suffering a lot of damage at Crimond last weekend, with her team hopeful of having the car raceable before the weekend! Expect the bumpers to fly, and expect an entertaining night from the youngsters!!

First Race 4.45pm!
