September Weekend
A little later than planned, but the first ‘Speed Weekend’ of 2020 is upon as at Lochgelly Raceway with a double header domestic affair on the agenda. A mix of contact and non contact action see’s 2 5 formula events on each day!

The 1300 Stock Cars are again in excellent numbers, with a few visitors to bolster things nicely, which should push us over the 30 car mark for this weekend. Curtis Tebbenham, Jake Banwell and Harry Coxhead all make the trip north as they bring a bit of England and Scotland rivalry! They trio of drivers will be looking to score some blagging rights over there Scottish counterparts, though we have no doubt the home based drivers will be looking to ensure a Scottish clean sweep over the weekend! Jamie Stewart has been the inform driver since the racing resumed here in Scotland, but will find the going a bit tougher this weekend as he starts from red grade for the first time; this may allow the likes of Euan Mathieson and Stewart Aitken to take advantage as they begin the quest in the 2020-21 National Points Championship! Craig Haxton will be back out with us after suffering a bit of a blow last time out, where he managed to lose a tooth in the process! Fraser Clark, Douglas Ford and the Naismith brothers will be looking to carry on with the consistent results that they had in recent times. One thing though with this group of drivers is that they always provide excellent, full contact racing, with a mix of big hits, and proper end to end stock car action! It promises to be a cracker of a weekend from the 1300 brigade!

The Superstox are also in action in both days, with around 20 cars expected to be in attendance. Lee Davison joins us from Northern Ireland, whilst Bradley Brooker makes the trip from England. The Superstox have seen a number of drivers turn to the Zetec setup in recent times, with a lot of success. Steven Ballantine expects to be out on track with his new car this week, whilst Bryan Forrest will be back out in his own car following an outing in the Ally Noble car. Scottish Champion Barry Stephen had a successful trip over to Northern Ireland last weekend with a few good results, and a new livery on his car as well! The Scottish Champion has been in great form since the racing re-commenced, taking the final win in each of the 2 meetings previously. The HRP National Points battle is on a knife edge as Barry Stephen and Bryan Forrest battle it out, with just 2 points between them, and only a few meetings left before it is reset! There could be some fireworks between these 2, if both of them want to take the fight to each other in the battle for Silver!

The Ministox are in action, and again have around 20 cars in action – a few less than recent times as a few have opted to travel to Skegness to participate in what is an unfortunate clash of events. We are pleased to welcome DRK Roofing and Maintenance Specialists on board for as a trophy sponsor for the youngsters this weekend. The kids never fail to disappoint, and we expect this weekend to eb no different. At home though, Charlie Hardie, Robbie Armit and Lewis Burgoyne have both been in superb form at Lochgelly Raceway, taking away the majority of points between them. Bailey Millar looks to have found his feet in Ministox and will be starting from yellow grade for the first time. Rachel Kidd has had a run of bad luck, and will be hoping for a change in fortunes this weekend again as she looks to kick start her campaign. Zara Hutchinson is back out with us following her rollover last weekend.

The Stock Rods are in action on Saturday night as well, and should have around 15 drivers on track for the latest outing – there final outing ahead of there Scottish Championship in just a few weeks time. Lee Best joins the ranks at Lochgelly Raceway and will be looking to roll back the years following an on track absence for a few years.

The Rookie Bangers battle it out for their Scottish Championship on Saturday, with the winner being declared the HRP points champion, and the by virtue, the place in the Spedeworth Bangers World Final (Subject to it going ahead / seeding confirmation). Craig Royal and Dylan Ward lead an English invasion, but the likes of Lee Clarke, Gary Mentiplay and David Russell will be looking to put a halt on the English challenge as they look to keep the title in Scotland.

The 2.0 Hot Rods still have a number of drivers to book in, alike the Stock Rods, replace the Stock Rods on Sunday, and the National Micro Bangers are in action on Sunday as they replace the Rookie Bangers.

Racing starts at 5pm Saturday, and 12.30pm on Sunday.
Spectator Gates open at 3pm Saturday and 11.30am Sunday.
