Our annual Firework special event is upon us - taking place on Saturday 6th November 2021.
The event will see the Van Bangers contest for the 2021 Scottish Championship, whilst the Superstox, 2.0 Hot Rods, Stock Rods and ProStocks will all also feature in what should be a fantastic five formula event.
The Van Bangers will be the main attraction and will provide some thrills and spills throughout the evening, with a Demolition Derby rounding off the night. Around 15 vans are expected to be in attendance - enough to delight and put on a show. The hard hitting and never ending nature of Van Banger racing will see the majority of the vans survive until the end of the evening as well!!
The Superstox contest the final event of 2021, and there will be a few tyres up for grabs courtesy of Hoosier, BFD Autos and Cleland Builders and Joiners. Als Adams will make a return to racing having sat out the majority of the campaign to focus on Mirran and Ciarans racing. John Downs is expected to make his debut in the formula as well, having had to miss out last time due to damage sustained in practice. Scottish Champion Aaron Riddell will be with us as he looks to show off the Saltire for the first time.
The 2.0 Hot Rods will provide some non contact racing. Last time out, the 2.0s provided some excellent racing in poor conditions - we will be hoping for another great showing from the non contact class. Frankie Cunningham and Keith Brown are both expected to be in action, as will Keith Chesher. Jason Secker and Cameron Willacy had some titanic battles last time out, and both drivers are at the top of their game, with Secker recently winning the Scottish Championship, and Willacy the National Points Championship. Mark Dews will be hoping for another wet evening, where he seems to have been excelling of late - despite the conditions not being his favourite!!!
The ProStocks are with us for the first of 2 back to back meetings, with them also being in action next Saturday night. The nudge and spin class have provided some talking points throughout the season, with some questionable driving. However, lateley, the formula has cleaned up its act and seem to have been providing good stock car racing - We can expect around 15 cars on track as the season draws in. Darren Rae and Tam Melrose are both still battling it out for the track and national points championship! They may be decided this Saturday night!
The Stock Rod class are the final formula in attendance, and it looks to be another good meeting from the formula. The current booking list is looking healthy, despite a couple of drivers choosing to head over to Ireland to race at Tipperary. Jamie Stewart will be back out in the Stock Rod and will be hoping to have his brake cooling issues sorted following a few overheating moments last time out!! Ian Donaldson has been in good form in the class, and will be hoping to carry that on this weekend. John Bremner managed to take a couple of wins a few weeks ago - can he repeat that fait on Saturday night? Be sure to join us to find out!
Our Fireworks will take place before we start the meeting finals, and we expect this to be between 730pm and 8pm.
