Meeting PreviewAn epic line up of racing is coming your way - 2 non stop days of racing, promising plenty of action, and plenty of brilliant racing!
The Fife Medical Group sponsored 2.0 Hot Rod World Championship takes centre stage, with the 2.0 Hot Rods racing for the Gold roof on Sunday afternoon, following the qualifying heats on the Saturday night. James Morris will be hoping to make track knowledge count as he looks to defend the title he won in 2021, in a bid to make it 2 in a row. Morris has been consistently amongst the podium places at Lochgelly this year, and certainly must not be discounted. Mitch Souter won the Scottish Open Championship here last year and will be looking for more success this time around. Northern Irishman, Conor Hughes is no stranger to success, having won the British Championship at Lochgelly Raceway last year. Gavin Botfield makes the trip north to be with us - his first visit to Lochgelly Raceway in several seasons, and Botfield will be looking for success in the World Championship race. Ian Riordan who was with us in April with the National Hot Rod, will again be with us this weekend as he races his 2.0 Hot Rod. Dean O’Dell has been no stranger to success at Lochgelly Raceway in previous formula, and will be hoping that stands him in good stead for this weekend’s racing. Scottish National Points Champion Jason Secker will be looking to go out on a high, as he looks to sell his championship winning car in the coming weeks. Sander van der Heijden will be with us this weekend, as will Frank Nohring.
A host of the top names from throughout the UK, Ireland and Netherlands will be with us in the 2.0 Hot Rod class.
The Superstox formula will see a full grid of cars take to the track on Saturday night as they contest their 2022 European Championship. Nick Roots has an emphatic 2021 campaign, and will be looking to retain as much titles as he can this year, with the 2022 European Championship one of those this weekend. Former World Champion Chris Bradbury is no stranger to success, and is very quick around Lochgelly Raceway. Bradderz has a wealth of experience and will know when and how hard to strike when the opportunity arises. Michael Green, another former World Champion will be on the grid in what is an acutely high calibre field of drivers. Dean Johnston and Aaron Riddell will be looking to bring the title north of the border, as will the experienced Bryan Forrest. Craig McConnell, Alan and Steven Haugh amonst others, will be looking to fly the flag for the Northern Irish in the quest for glory!

Over 30 cars are expected to be in attendance each day as the youngsters look to take the plaudits, and provide great entertainment across the 2 days. A new champion will be unveiled, as reigning ORCi champion Scott Allardyce has now moved on from the formula. The Scottish drivers will be looking for success on local tar, whilst the Autospeed contingent of drivers can never be discounted!
The Stock Rods, will race in the Chris Lattka Testimonial event on Sunday afternoon, with Gunner racing at Lochgelly for one final time. The former World, European, National and British Champion hangs up his helmet after the National Championships event just 2 weeks later.
