Meeting Preview

Whether you’ve been on your travels, or sat at home for the last two weeks getting work done around the house, then we are excited to welcome you back to Lochgelly Raceway this Saturday night!

The Junior Productions race it out as they race for their Direct Car Care Scottish Championship. Last year, Koddi Wright came out on top, however, with Wright having retired from the formula, a new champion will be crowned this weekend. The Junior Production class has seen numerous excellent races this year, with drivers all making huge leaps in racecraft and being able to read the race. Lewis Dickson has been in great form this year, taking several race wins already and opening up a 50+ point lead in the points championship at this stage of the season. Willam Plenderleith is always one of the quickest drivers on track and has been a front runner in the Junior Production class for the last couple of seasons. Is 2024 his time to succeed? Connie Anderson has flown under the radar, however, consistency has seen her compete from the rear end of the grid for much of the last 2 seasons. The north of Scotland based youngster will be aiming for some steady results in the heats to put herself in contention for the main event! Liam Loggie was a late starter to the 2024 campaign, but the talented youngster has shown that he has what it takes to success. Loggie has been battling for the podium places in all of his meetings so far this year and will certainly be in contention for success. Jack Baird, Abe Adams, Dale Sutherland and Connor St Aubyn will all be hoping for some good fortune. The quartet of drivers all have the outright pace to challenge, however, have all found themselves short on luck – surely it\\\'s just a matter of time before that luck changes? Kaitlyn Smart hasn’t done as many meetings that she would have hoped for this year, however, in those meetings that she has participated in, she has performed well, shown determination, and has fought for some hard points along the way. Aiden and Lewis Duffy will both be with us – Lewis for the first time since breaking his wrist a while back – both Duffy drivers have enough experience and pace to be considered as challengers. Add in the likes of Nicole Innes, Callum Ritchie, Kenzie Kopacz, Liam Conway, Billie-Summer Glen, and Jayden Barrie who have all made remarkable leaps this year, and it promises to be an exciting night of racing for the Junior Production class. Mia Cross and Leeland Dearn both are set to be with us as they continue their development in the Junior Production class.

The Superstox class are racing in memory of John Gibson – A beloved Superstox supporter who was always on hand around the pits to help out where he can – who sadly passed away a few years ago. Colin Frame, Ciaran Adams and Lee Livingston are previous winners of the trophy, with only Ciaran Adams currently racing. Could ‘Spud’ become the first driver to win it twice, or will the honor go to one of the other drivers on track? Dean Johnston retained the HRP National Points Championship for another year and would love nothing more than to win such an honourable event. Kenny McKenzie has been a front runner throughout the year, and having one of his best seasons in the formula to date. McKenzie has the ability and experience to take a win this weekend and will certainly fancy his chances. Aaron Riddell has recently returned to action following a lay-off, and in the ex Michael Green car, he certainly has a car at his disposal that is more than capable of winning on any given day. Adam Low is hoping to be with us after sustaining some damage at Ipswich a couple of weeks ago. Low isn’t shy when it comes to getting stuck in, and if he is in the fight, he won’t be able to shift; an entertaining driver whatever the outcome! Benjamine Erskine has been steadily picking up the pace, and has found himself move up the grades in recent months. The former CC Rod driver has took no time in finding his feet in the formula, getting quicker with each passing meeting, and gaining confidence in himself and the car in the process. Jordan Black has had his season hampered by work commitments, but is expected to be with us on Saturday. Jordan will be out in the car that won the race last year in the hands of Lee Livingston… Can that be an omen to success this year for the 555 pilot? One thing that is a certainty, is that the open wheel class will look to provide some exciting racing!

The National Hot Rods get their 2024-25 World Qualifying Campaign underway with a lot of competition within the grid. Gordon Alexander won the 23-24 series and will wear the silver roof for the next 12 months. Ross McWilliam, Ian Donaldson, Alex Wilson, Ethan Doull, Marc Spence and the likes of Darren Scott will all be vying for the qualification places. None of them will want to give anything away to anyone else. Derek Connor looks set to be a welcome addition to the grid having bought the Ian Donaldson car, with Donaldson himself having acquired another car. It is hoped that the likes of Ross Alexander will be back in action for the series as well as we aim for a competitive year of racing from the National Hot Rod class.

The CC Rods are the final formula in action this weekend. The budget class has provided some dramatic events over the years, with some extremely close, competitive and mostly fair racing. Ian Christie has been the consistent driver once again this year, as he aims to claim the points championship for another season. There is a lot of racing still to be done before then though! Kevin Hutchison, Lee Scott, Gregor Whyte are all quick, smooth and consistent drivers too – and they are all regularly fighting for the podium places. Baillie Glencross has found her feet in the formula, picking up a race win last time out, she’ll be hoping for another good night this weekend. Ian Donaldson makes a return to the formula – a fast driver, and one that will be aiming to hit the ground running.

The drivers sign in office will open at 3pm, whilst practice will get underway at 4.00pm. The sign in office will close 30minutes before the first race. Thereafter, drivers must sign in from the main reception.

50 50 TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE MAIN RECEPTION FOR JUST £1 PER STRIP, WITH HALF THE TAKINGS GOING TO THE WINNER.

Drivers are reminded that they are responsible for leaving a tidy pit area, utilizing the bins provided, or taking rubbish away with them. Any teams found to be leaving their pit area untidy, will be fined and possibly banned from attending race meetings.

The spectator gates will open at 3.45pm, with trackside parking only available on a first come first served basis. High sided vehicles are requested to park on the upper level, and the far end of the middle level, so not to obstruct views of those behind them.
