Stock Rod Scottish To Be Contested

Stand closer to the action at Lochgelly Raceway – Forget standing miles away from the action – At Lochgelly, you can stand just metres from it, sending your senses into overdrive as you hear the engines race by, the vibrations as the cars clip the wall, and the wind as the cars race by. If you have never been before, you are certainly missing out on an witnessing exciting, grassroots motorsport.

Championship fever continues at HRP Lochgelly Raceway as the Stock Rod race for their Scottish Championship this Saturday night. The Stock Rod formula has been one of the consistent highlights throughout the season, offering fast, close and extremely competitive racing amongst many of the formula’s top drivers. Robbie Armit will be hoping to defend the title he won last year – Robbie has had another excellent year and has been in contention from the outset, both at home and on his travels. Sean Naismith in the 100 car will be another front running driver – Naismith has been at the top end of the formula for a few years, and is due a big win – can this Saturday night be his night? Teri Linden 183 has been in good form of late, picking up some excellent results and showing some great racecraft. The female racer will fancy her chances and will be one to watch out for. Youngster David Philp Jnr has taken to the Stock Rod formula excellently having made the move up from Ministox in April this year. The youngster has taken a number of wins this season and will be hoping to add the Scottish Championship on Saturday night. A whole host of contenders – always expect the unexpected. It promises to be a brilliant night of racing from the Stock Rod formula.

The National Hot Rods join us for the first time in a few weeks – European Champion James Robertson is set to be with us, whilst Scottish Points Series Champion, Gordon Alexander will be in contention throughout the night. Last time out, Gordon looked to have his Mazda handling excellently. Barry Stephen expects to be with us too, and will be keen to get some good points on the board after some engine issues over the last few months. The Nationals will provide fast, close racing throughout the night as the drivers push the limits of the track.

The Ninja Karts race in their Autism Awareness event – won last year by Rory Wilson. Wilson in fact won the event in 2024 as well, and will be looking to make it three in a row. The Ninja Karts have delivered some of the best racing this year. The youngsters have often excelled with hair-raising moments with drivers racing just inches from each other as they move inside and outside to try their overtakes. Max Armit has been a fantastic addition to the formula this year and has certainly taken to it superbly, as he pushes the more experienced drivers all the way. Alfie Shevill has shown superb pace this year, though has at times been caught up in a few incidents along – he’ll be hoping for a smooth night this Saturday as he chases success. Alfie MacLeod and Scottish Champion Jayden Jeffrey have also been at the forefront of success this year, with both drivers showing great consistency and outright speed. Ryan Love competes in the formula for the final time ahead of his 11th birthday, and will be keen to go out on a high. Jacob Green is due a bit of luck – the youngsters has came on massively this season, but hasn’t always came away with the results that he potentially deserves. Always an exciting formula to watch, the Ninja Karts produce lots of overtaking and dramatic on track moments.

The Superstox are with us once more as they race for trophies sponsored by Annette Chisolm Book Keeping. Scott Keith is hoping to make his debut in the class a little later in the season than he had hoped for.

The ORCi Ministox complete the line up, and will be looking to produce some more exciting racing that they are always capable of. Corey Mathers has been in great form at Lochgelly this year, and has took a number of race wins over the last few meetings. Stuart Shevill Jnr Jnr is arguably the driver to beat though, as he seems to be able to raise his game when required as he chases glory when it matters.

𝐏𝐢𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚:

Race teams must park in the designated area within the pits, within the 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐬. Parking outwith bays may result in you being asked to move. Anyone wishing to park together, must arrive together. There will be no holding of spaces permitted.

Only race transporter vehicles are permitted within the pit area. Any unauthorised vehicles in the pit area will be removed.

The pit plan layout is to be adhered to for practice on Friday as well.

𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 / 𝐂𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠:

The spectator gates will open at 2.30pm.

Trackside parking will be available on a first come first served basis.

We have a large free on-site car park, with overflow car parking available on the drift track. Access routes must be kept clear.

A reminder, motorsport can be dangerous. Please stay clear of the catch fence during racing, be observant throughout the event and keep all children accompanied at all times. The promotors do our utmost to ensure a safe environment for all, however, given the nature of the sport, risks cannot be fully eradicated.

All attendee’s are requested to drive with care whilst arriving and leaving the venue. Pedestrians and horse riders are a regular feature on the access road. Please give them room and respect.

Further Race Team Information

On Saturday, the drivers sign in office will open at 14:00 and close at 17:15. Thereafter, drivers must sign in from the main reception. Race teams are reminded to respect the pit area and keep the pits clean and tidy.

Scrutineering will be open from 14:00. Drivers must be signed in before being scrutineered. Drivers cannot practice until they have been signed in and scrutineered.

All drivers MUST attend the drivers briefing.

Drivers are reminded that they are responsible for leaving a tidy pit area, utilizing the bins provided, or taking rubbish away with them. Any teams found to be leaving their pit area untidy, will be fined and possibly banned from attending race meetings.

All drivers must ensure that they have read the Drivers Briefing Notes. HRP will not be held accountable for a driver failing to read / understand these. Upon signing in, it will be presumed that you have read and understood these notes.
