It’s a Fantastic Friday night event at HRP Lochgelly Raceway on the 12th June as we see a fast and furious night of stock car action – Four formula take to the track, providing 12 action packed races in around 3 hours.
Stand just metres from the action and feel the cars race by – be it the wind from the cars, or the vibrations from the roaring engines. At Lochgelly Raceway you will have views of the full race track from your vantage point and be able to see the action unfold from wherever you are stood around the raceway.
The U Pull It 1400 Stock Cars take to the track and we are set to see a couple of new drivers join us – ProStock driver Mathew Wilson is set to make an outing in the Jamie George car as he tests the water, and Andrew Wightman is set to return to the formula having not been seen for several years. These drivers join recent additions such as Aaron Forgie, Chris Innes, Dale Sutherland and Kev Baird who have all entered the class over the last couple of months. The more established drivers have given us some great end to end racing with hard hitting action. Brant West, Connor Jones and Fraser Clark have all had some great races with battles worth watching, whilst the likes of Joshua Machin and Charlie Henry are never too far away from the action, with Henry being on the receiving end of a big Kevin Graham his last time out.
The ORCi Ministox are in attendance as they race for the HRP Marshals Sheild – being defended by Stuart Shevill Jnr. The youngsters have seen numbers down on previous years this year, but they have always provided hard, fast and competitive racing. Ollie Sime and Corey Mathers have both been in good form at Lochgelly over the last few meetings with the two drivers coming away with a few trophies between them. Shevill Jnr has never been far away. Jamie Balfour looks to have found his confidence once more, and will be keen to get in amongst the podium places on Friday night. Irish Open Champion Jayden Roff is one of a few English based drivers joining us for Friday night’s action.
The 2.0 Hot Rods are back in action having completed their 25-26 National Points Series – With Charlie Hardie coming out on top. William Buller has been in fine form of late setting great lap times and taking multiple race wins – showcasing his undisputed talent and is certainly one to watch out for on the grid. Allan Gibson has been consistent throughout the campaign and will be looking to get good points on the board on Friday as he sets about starting another good year. Gary Dean will be hoping to have cured his issues that plagued him last time out, whilst Russell Clacher is hoping to make his debut in the formula should he have the car ready in time. David Frame has his car ready, and is hoping to join us for his first outing of the season as well.
The Junior Productions complete the line up. The youngsters have provided a lot of quality racing over the last year or so and have seen a number of new drivers come into the class and really take to the formula – Louie Hendry, Bella Brown and Frazer Anderson are three such drivers that have performed excellently from the moment they sat in the cars for the first time, and will all be ones to watch on Friday. Callum Ritchie has been the quickest of the Scottish drivers this year, but has run into a few reliability issues of late and will be hoping to have them overcome for this Friday’s action. Aiden Duffy, Leeland Dearn, Kenzie Kopacz and Nicole Innes will all be looking to score well as they chase some more good point scoring finishes. Lewis Duffy only has a few months left in the formula and will be looking to continue to perform as consistently as he has done this year so far.
