Driver Meeting Notes

At the beginning of December, we held driver meetings across the formula, with various questions asked, comments raised and feedback passed on.

A summary of the notes for each formula can be seen below.

Superstox
- Bigger gaps between grades
- Single file restarts - keep it yellow if start becomes messy or pushing throughout the field

2.0 Hot Rods
- Re-introduction of away meeting points – Roof titles + Easter W/E Hed BHol
- No major issues within the formula

Stock Rods
- Re-introduction of away meeting points – Roof titles + Easter W/E Hed BHol
- Look into people not turning up at away meetings when booked in. This is being considered and looked into.
- Raise a query with Spedeworth / Tam about alternators and update rules on roof fins

Bangers
- Vans – Fuel tanks to be moved inside if using original tank
- Van events - teams to ensure that the vans are adequately stripped of trimmings (bumpers off, trim off, etc)
- 1600s – DD to be held at all events with participation points given for those participating in the DD.
- A few more 1600 events to be run
- Look to see if we can get drivers booked into the gold rush meetings (BH @ Hed). Feedback received on this that we should get bookings.

ProStocks
- Ask to permit Corsa D / E, with outlawing any newbuild Corsa C.
- Add Vauxhall Adam to list of permitted cars.
- Drivers agreed to race for one Silver roof between two tracks from 2025. 2024 National Points Champions can run with Silver.
- Clarify a grade for track champions to run.
- Ask to goto control tyre – Toyo Comfort, Toyo TR2 or Kumo only. Any tyre permitted inside rear.
- Ask about front bumper bars.
o To permit use of alternative crash bar, so long as it can fit on car from manufacturers range + permit use of VW Golf MK5.
o Clarify if 2x1” box is 2” high or 1” high, or if driver choice
- Tyre buffing – permit due to unable to police. Rasp only.
- Ask if Volvo C30 can be added to permitted car list
- Ask if Tigra permitted
- (all above emailed to GMP 4/12/24)
- Look to see if can give another weekend event. Unable to do so, however the formula will feature on at least one speed weekend.

1300s
- Seek clarification on engine timing – what is top pulley to look like and where to line it up. Can the tension belt off water pump be used to adjust timing.. What tolerance is acceptable as they can move during races.
- Update rules with ‘V’ cut out back information
- Update iron work illustrations
- Ask for communication on changes / updates as they happen
- Ensure all drivers running with roof grades as per the rules - full roof coloured. Start at back otherwise (consider exception if a hire / borrowed car)
- Racing to grade to be cut out – no going to tunnel more than 1 race before due out on track / look into rotating grids.
- Shocks – can they be checked
- Chassis – add / clarify if can be stepped or must be level
- Skin – how much of the skin can be removed from roof down the A pillar
- Look into mini series for formula
(All rule clarification questions have been emailed to Spedeworth to consider)

CC Rods
- Contact
o Remove penalty point system and use SW DQ system instead.
- Remove 2x1 backing.
- Check if twinport blacktop engine can be used / what can be done to implement it. (This is currently being looked into)

Ninja Karts
- See if any additional events can be added to proposed fixtures. A couple of extra events have been added, though, there is also more away championships.
- Points to be awarded at roof carrying championship events.
- Potentially introduce grid for w/y race too. This will be done for the 2025 season.
- Ninja Kart Dyno Sheet with engine? This query has been sent to Spedeworth.
- Grid positions at away meetings / English off the back as per in England for Scot drivers. Have emailed DMC and Spedeworth to see if a set procedure can be introduced.
- Look to get dyno checks done as a group to see where engine is at.
- Pre – Race – option to sit next to scrutineering, but no adults permitted in tunell.
- Put responsibility on kids for starting in correct positions, or dock them to save time on lining up karts.

Ministox
- Social Media Tolerances. Any confirmed abuse to carry penalties.
- Look to improve communication and consistency between the tracks.
- Look to remove pit lane racing and see if an alternative way can be brought in across tracks.

Junior Productions
- Contact - decided to maintain penalty points system
- Social Media Tolerances
- Give responsibility to drivers to start in correct positions

General
- More checks to be conducted across the formula on a regular basis
- Mid week practice to be considered for the 2025 season.
- A few asked about a white line re-introduction, though, it was felt that this would ultimately be different for each formula, and it is easier to leave to the steward to determine racing room.


Whilst not all proposals or suggestions have been finalised or confirmed as yet, once any confirmation or clarity emerges, we will confirm with the driver groups.

A number of suggestions were also raised about mini series or whites and yellow series. We are looking into acquriing sponsors for any such events.
