The Dust Has Settled
Added by kevin_mcqueen on Tuesday 13th May
After a fantastic two days of racing at HRP Lochgelly Raceway, where it had a bit of everything – drama, close racing, action packed racing, sunshine and a fantastic atmosphere all weekend, the dust has finally begun to settle. We’ve been inundated with words of praise, and positive feedback from drivers and spectators which we are always grateful for. We always do our best to promote great racing, be welcoming to all, and take feedback on board.
We would like to thank all race teams, drivers, officials, café staff, reception staff, and spectators for being with us over the course of the weekend. Without the combined effort of all, we would have no sport.
The photographers capturing the moments and memories - we’ve seen many epic photos and videos from the weekend – thank you.
We had many deserving winners over the weekend, and we’re sure you’d join us in congratulating each of them. All drivers in fact, deserve a mention for showcasing some of the best racing the sport has to offer.
A special mention to the folks behind the scenes getting the track and facilities ready, maintaining the venue and keeping it clean and tidy on a weekly basis.
With all the positivity over the weekend, it saddens us to have to, once more, highlight the lack of respect some people clearly have for the venue. The toilets most notably, have been abused. Toilet roll (used) thrown against walls, locks broken, sinks blocked, stuff put down toilets, toilet roll holders broken…it’s really does make us sick given the investment in the venue over the years. Furthermore, the amount of people just discarding rubbish, tins etc around the venue, rather than walking a few metres to the closest bin is unbelievable. There are ample bins around the venue – please use them.
To remedy such actions, we may have to bring in additional race day staff to control and monitor the usage of the facilities, and this costs money. We will be monitoring the state of the toilets over the next couple of months, and if there is further vandalism and abuse to our facilities, then we may have to increase costs across the board, which will impact everyone.
We have always aimed to be a family friendly and affordable venue – we are one of the most affordable venues in the UK & we really don’t want to increase costs any more than necessary, however, if this continues, then we may be left with little option.
If you see or have anything, please report them to a member of staff, or send details to 07584837445 via WhatsApp, and your details will remain anonymous - before it impacts everyone.
