As the 2023 season approaches, we have been informed that our legendary commentator, \'The Madman\', will no longer be able to fulfil the role in the 2023 season and is now set to retire from his duties.
We would like to thank Stephen for his fantastic support and commitment throughout the years with, not only with us at Hardie Race Promotions, but for his contribution to Stock Car racing over the decades.
We wish Stephen well and the best of health in his retirement.

Hardie Race Promotions are looking for a few enthusiastic individuals to join our team.
In particular, we are looking for individuals to join us with the following roles;
• Track Safety Marshals
• Pit and Parking Marshals
• Race Announcer (Commentator), that can commit to the majority of events
• Scrutineer
What we are looking for:
• Well presented and friendly
• Attentive to their job role
• Reliable
• Enthusiast, confident and willing to work hard
• Able to work on their own, but also as part of a team
• Applicants should be physically fit
Wage:
• Roles are voluntary, however, a subsidence donation will be given
Role Information:
• Race Commentator / Announcer
You will be responsible for any announcements required during the event
Providing commentary and information to spectators throughout races, and inbetween races
Advertising future events
Mentioning of event sponsors throughout the evening
Ensuring music is played during and before the event
• Scrutineer
Scrutineers must wear highly visible clothing. Good vehicle knowledge is a requirement for this role, and it is expected that you will have good, friendly communication skills. You will be working alongside our current scrutineers and therefore must work as part of a team and be able to take instruction.
It is the duty of the Scrutineer to satisfy themselves that before the start of each race, every car appears to conform to the current Rules & Regulations and that the car is in good and proper condition and that the driver is correctly equipped with helmet, overalls, gloves, and, where required under formula rules, neck brace / balaclava.
In the event of finding fault with a car and/or driver, the scrutineer shall issue the driver concerned a signed report in the drivers log book. The driver of the car will not be permitted to race until the fault is rectified and subsequently approved by the scrutineer (except at the discretion of the promotion).
The main priority of the role is pre-event safety checks but it is expected that sporadic checks throughout the event take place on race cars.
• Pit Marshal
This role includes ensuring that race teams are taking reasonable precautions to ensure that they are working in a safe manner, and have a duty of care to others around them. This includes the way they work on vehicles and ensuring that walking pace rules are adhered to.
You are expected to have good communication skills, as you will be regularly communicating to drivers and race control / clerk of the course. This includes lining up drivers for forthcoming race(s), informing drivers of any decisions impacting them, and rounding up drivers for briefings.
It is expected that you are at the venue in time for the pit area opening to ensure that drivers are parking as per required on the day.
Ensuring that public do not enter restricted areas throughout the event
Assisting in clean up at the end of the evening
• Parking Attendants
You will be required to attend the venue in time for spectator gates opening.
You will be expected to assist in ensuring trackside parking is parked neatly, and that high sided vehicles are parked in the upper level(s)
You will be expected to assist in car parking duties in the car park to ensure spectators park in an orderly manner
Assisting with car park exit at the end of the evening
• Track Safety Marshals
This role includes, but is not limited to
Ensuring that any debris, spillages are cleaned up after each race
Assisting parking attendants, pit marshals etc prior to the race meeting
Communicating and getting signals from drivers, and relaying to the Clerk of the Course
Gridding of race cars
Return of any equipment to the correct storage locations
Assisting in clean up at the end of the evening
