Saturday 6th April will see four excellent formula take to the track as they look to provide the on track entertainment.

The U Pull It 1300 Stock Cars are back in action with another excellent field of cars anticipated. At the time of writing, there are 25 cars currently booked to race, with a few drivers not yet on the list. Dean Sievwright has been steadily improving in the formula, and of late, as begun to score good points on a regular basis, and went on his travels to Northampton last weekend, where he once more picked up some great results. Jake Wilson has been the driver to beat in the early part of the 2024 season, picking up a number of race wins in the first few meetings of the season. Wilson will find the going a little more difficult this weekend though following the re-grading, where he will see him starting from the red grade with the likes of Danny Whyte, Fraser Clark and Kyle Hegg in close contention. Craig Warner is another driver who has started the season excellently, especially in damp conditions where has looked almost unbeatable. Warner though, picked up some damage last time out, and he (his team) will be working overtime to get the car ready for Saturday. Gary Nicholls is set to be with us having missed out last time out due to damage. The 176 car is always fast moving, and seems to find itself avoiding much of the incidents on track. Darren Rae started the season off in fine form, though over the last couple of meetings, has dropped away somewhere, and will be keen to find some of the speed that was shown earlier on in the season as he looks to challenge for race victories. The hard hitting armoured hatch-back style cars aren’t for the feint hearted, with steelwork clattering together as the drivers use force to move up through the order. Entertaining and action packed racing is always guaranteed with the 1300 Stock Cars!

The 2.0 Hot Rods are with us once more, and it is great to see Chevy Mills make the trip north to join us once more. Last time out, HRP’s top two drivers Frankie Cunningham and Keith Brown both had a coming together, with the pair pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable in a non-contact formula. Frankie and Keith have both shown great racecraft this season already, with both drivers looking on top of their games as they look to bring success to Scotland. Allan Gibson was hoping to be with us this week, however, after a fight with a grinder, unfortunately will have to sit out once more. Steven Duffy and Chris Leslie are both expected to make their season debuts, whilst Kieron Johnson is hoping to be with us after repairing the damage he sustained last time out. Colin Wotherspoon took a great win last time out as he defended admirably from the chasing pack behind him, and he will be looking to take the #9 car back into victory lane this weekend. Ryan Dunbar makes the trip south to be with us, whilst Craig Mason and Shuggy Brown are both expected to be in attendance.

The ProStocks have provided some excellent racing this season, with a string of competitive drivers with the ability and knowledge to race hard, but fair. The drivers have shown great commitment to the formula with around 20 drivers racing at our first couple of events, with a similar number expected this weekend. Paul Barron has been in impressive form, and took a couple of race wins last time out coming from the red grade. It is expected that he’ll be starting from the back of the reds as the GMP silver stripe driver this weekend, so may find it a little more challenging to get a run at some of the quick lower graded drivers on track. Grady Ross and John Jackson have both scored well at the opening events from the lower grades, whilst National Points Champion, Robert Conway has found himself find more pace with each passing race. Lewis Gilchrist and Graeme Fleming have both shown they aren’t scared to get stuck in and use the bumper when necessary, with both drivers in the mix of the action last time out. Owen Bonner took an excellent race win, and will be looking to get a clear track in front of him on Saturday as he looks to get more points on the board.

The youngsters in the Ninja Karts are back in action with us once more, and we hope to see Alfie Campbell make his debut. We also welcome visiting driver Thomas Wilkins with us with just under 20 youngsters expected to take to the track. Louie Hendry has been one of the quickest drivers of late, finishing the 2023 season off excellently, whilst also scoring well at our season opener last time out. Blair Innes took a victory in the whites and yellows race last time, and was unfortunate during the main heats where he led the way on various occasions. Katie Lee Smart will be hoping to get her season on track with a confidence boosting meeting, whilst the likes of Tommy Melrose, Jayden Jeffrey and Rory Wilson all look to take themselves into the podium positions throughout the evening.

The drivers sign in office will open at 2.30pm, whilst practice will get underway at 3.40pm.

Drivers are reminded that they are responsible for leaving a tidy pit area, utilizing the bins provided, or taking rubbish away with them. Any teams found to be leaving their pit area untidy, will be fined and possibly banned from attending race meetings.

The spectator gates will open at 3.30pm, with trackside parking only available on a first come first served basis. High sided vehicles are requested to park on the upper level, and the far end of the middle level, so not to obstruct views of those behind them.
