Ninja Scottish Up For Grabs Ninja Scottish Up For Grabs Ninja Scottish Up For Grabs
This Saturday at Lochgelly Raceway, it’s another Scottish Championship event!! The Ninja Karts are the headline formula this weekend as the youngsters look to battle it out for one of their biggest titles of the year. A new champion will be crowned, with reigning Scottish Champion Dougie Kidd now having retired from the formula.

There is a host of potential winners on track, but with the Ninja Karts, the racing is entirely unpredictable! European Champion, Stuart Shevill has had a fantastic year, and would love nothing more than to add the Scottish Championship to his list of accomplishments. A race winner last time out, the youngsters knows how to deal with the pressure. Katie Lee Smart has been a constant front runner over the last 12 months or so, albeit, hasn’t had too much in the way of good luck. Katie Lee has proven she has the pace to match anyone on track, and will be hoping everything falls into place this weekend as she aims for glory. Tommy Melrose started the 2023 season in excellent form, but has curtailed away a little bit of late with a run of misfortune. If Tommy can keep out of bother, and keep the kart going, he should be one of the drivers battling for the podium positions come the main race.

Henry Hunn has been a regular attendee at Lochgelly Raceway this year, and has opted to do the Scottish Championship, rather than the English. Hunn has taken a number of race wins and podium finishes throughout, and will be keen to claim victory in the Scottish Championship race as well! Another English based driver opting to do the Scottish Champion is 99 Jayden Roff. Roff enjoys his racing here at Lochgelly, and will be hoping to steer clear of any troubles in the heats to put him amongst the front runners in the Scottish Championship race.

Abigail Chalmers took a win last time out, which will give her a confidence boost going into this weekend. Rory Wilson is another driver that has looked to have good pace having recently came into the formula alongside Christopher Lattka. Both youngsters have battled it out at the front of the grid lately and will be hoping for good results this weekend. Sophia Allan has arguably been one of the most improved drivers of the season, but hasn’t had much luck to show for her improvement. She has taken a further leap forward of late having acquired the ex Hunn Hardie Motorsport kart, and has challenged regularly for top three places since.

Blair Innes, Jayden Jeffrey, Aiden Bell, Louie Hendry, Jamie Balfour and Rayah Burns amongst others, are all capable of battling for the front places.. A good grid draw and an open track ahead of them, could give them a good result in the qualifying heats!

One thing for sure, is that the Ninja Karts will provide some great, exciting racing throughout the night, and with a lot of unpredictability!!

The Superstox are back in action this Saturday as well, following on from their National Championship last weekend, and just two weeks before their World Championship, here at Lochgelly at the end of the month. The Superstox have been a great surprise this season, with lots of great racing, competitive battles and top entertainment with strong grids of cars becoming a regular feature. Another grid of just under 20 cars are expected to be with us this weekend, including visitor #800, Scott Greenslade. Ciaran Adams has found himself to be one of the quickest drivers on track, and the fiery pilot will never be passed without a challenge. If he is within striking distance in the closing stages of the race, he’ll have a go, whether it’s for 1st or 10th. Jack Turbitt has been a consistent performer this year, topping the track championship at the moment, but having now moved up to red grade, things will become a lot more challenging. Turbitt has the speed, and seemingly a wise head on his shoulders as he has found himself inheriting a few race wins in the last laps this year. Newly crowned European Champion, Dean Johnston will be looking to ensure everything is perfect with his car ahead of the World Championship. Johnston retained the National Points Championship, and will also be looking to kick on in a quest to defend that title once more. Kenny McKenzie, Adam Low, Mark Brady and the likes will all be looking to pick up a steady haul of points, with McKenzie taking a win last time out too! Mirran Adams continues to improve with each passing meeting, and the only girl racer in the formula at HRP will be looking to claim victory in the not too distant future!

The Stock Rods are back with us for the first time in what feels like an eternity! A lot of championships, and away dates has meant the formula hasn’t been seen at Lochgelly in around 2 months! Siobhan Martin, Gary Dean, Jack MacLeod and Brett Sneddon all took wins at Hednesford last weekend, and will all be looking to take away a win or two this weekend, as they make final preparations ahead of their World Championship at the end of the month too. With the Stock Rod class, there is a lot of competition on track, with a large number of up and coming drivers. Stewart Aitken has recently returned to action and will be hoping for a successful meeting. The lower graded drivers are a tough lot to pass, with each of them looking to make their way up the grades as they look to gain invaluable experience amongst some of the formulas quickest drivers.

The National Hot Rods are the final formula in attendance, and will be racing in their second round of their World Qualifying Series. Alex Wilson made his debut last time out, and took a win in the process, whilst Doug McLean, Gordon Alexander and William Hardie all also provided some great close racing!

The action gets underway at 6pm this Saturday, with spectator gates opening at 3pm. Driver sign in will open at 2pm..
