It’s the final Friday night event of the season at HRP Lochgelly Raceway and it is shaping up to be one excellent race meeting. Four formula take to the track as we rattle through 12 races in just 3 hours.

The U-Pull-It 1300 Stock Cars race in the annual Mr Gunn event – An event kindly sponsored by a collective of people – The Gunn family, Mirror Mirror Salon, Ringtone Racepainter, the Goodall’s & Taxi Centre 01333300300. An enhanced prize pot is available for the meeting final courtesy of the additional sponsorship, and we’d like to thank everyone for the contribution once more. The UPI 1300 Stock Cars are known for metal crunching action and we expect lots of excellent racing on Friday. A number of visiting drivers make the trip to join us, with representation from Northern Ireland and England in addition to our own core of drivers. Just under 25 cars are set to take to the track on Friday.

The ORCi Ministox are back with us once more, and alike the 1300 Stock Cars, they too have a few visiting drivers in the ranks for Friday. The ORCi Ministox are renowned for excellent racing, and producing action packed moments from start to finish. Domestically, David Philp Jnr has had an excellent season and is closing in on 1000 National Points. Shaun Boyle, Stuart Shevill and Rhys Anderson have all regularly been front running drivers and have all had commendable seasons. The drivers have no fear, and the youngsters will likely produce hard hitting action throughout the night.

The 2.0 Hot Rods are an addition to the originally published fixture list, with one of there events earlier in the season being rescheduled to this Friday night. The formula is capable of producing sublime racing as the drivers race bumper to bumper and door to door as they look to navigate their way around the track. The star graded drivers will have to show patience as they look to move forward on track, with some very quick and up and coming lower graded drivers to contend with.

The Stock Rods complete the line up, and we could see a couple of drivers make a return to the formula – Jock McEwan is set to make a return to racing, whilst Darren McAlpine also hopes to have his car ready to take to the track. Teri Linden is hopeful of making this Friday, though she did pick up some damage at Tipperary last weekend that needs rectifying beforehand. Kevin Stewart will start from his grade for the first time since entering the formula, and it will be interesting to see how he fairs from that position. Baillie Glencross makes an outing in the Stock Rod class as it looks like she turns her attention to that having gained some experience in the CC Rod class.

The racing gets underway at 7pm.

A reminder, we have 50 50 TICKETS AVAILABLE FROM THE MAIN RECEPTION FOR JUST £1 PER STRIP, WITH HALF THE TAKINGS GOING TO THE WINNER.

A reminder, motorsport can be dangerous. Please stay clear of the catch fence during racing, be observant throughout the event and keep all children accompanied at all times. All attendee’s are requested to drive with care whilst arriving and leaving the venue. Pedestrians and horse riders are a regular feature on the access road. Please give them room and respect.
