Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th June at Lochgelly Raceway – it’s a weekend not to be missed as we bring you three major championship events, plus numerous other titles up for grabs across the course of the weekend.
The 2.0 Hot Rods headline the bill as they race for the 2025 World Championship, whilst the open wheel full contact Superstox formula battle it out for their European Championship. Finally, the stars of the future in the Ninja Karts take to the track as they race for the 2025 Scrapco Metal Recycling European Championship.
Stand just metres away from the action and feel the wind and vibrations as the cars race by. With the top drivers from across the formula with us, it is an event not to be missed!
Adam Heatrick will be looking to defend his World Championship title in amongst a pack of drivers eager to get their hands on the title. Northern Ireland has been the home of World Champions for the past three seasons, with the mainland contingent of drivers being cast aside. Will that trend change this weekend? Will we see one of the mainland drivers rise to the challenge and claim the World Championship? Will we see an Irish or Dutch world champion? Household names such as Jason Jackson, Ben Murray, Jason Secker, Brandan O’Connell, Marius Bert, Keith Brown, Charlie Hardie & Drew McKeown will all be with us as the top drivers from the 2.0 Hot Rod formula all look to become the 2025 World Champion! If the drivers don’t succeed in claiming the World Championship, they will have a shot at glory in the Scottish Open – with a new driver set to be claim the title with reigning champion Ian Riordan now focusing on National Hot Rods.
The Superstox never fail to disappoint here at Lochgelly Raceway, with hard hitting racing almost guaranteed – two different style corners allows for hard hitting action and on track drama at both ends of the track. Michael Green has arguably been the formula’s top driver over the last year, winning the British, Best in Britain and European Championship along the way – this weekend he will be defending that European Championship, and we are sure he will not have an easy ride, as 30+ other drivers all have the same target in mind. Inter-Nations Cup winner Martyn Coles, World Champion Jordan Robinson and Scottish Champion Dean Johnston will all be looking to add to their existing list of titles. Meanwhile, there will be various other drivers all looking to get their hands on their first major championship – Aaron Riddell, Gary Chisolm, Randal Lynn and Jamie McCann are just a few that will also be in contention. The bumpers will be put to use throughout the weekend, with the Iain Bruce Memorial and Scottish Open also up for grabs on the Sunday afternoon.
The stars of the future in the Ninja Kart formula will descend upon Lochgelly Raceway as they too battle it out for the Scrapco Metal Recycling European Championship. A new winner will be crowned in the formula with reigning champion Charlie Weston now racing in the Ministox formula. The Ninja Karts are a formula that you have to admire – these drivers all age 10 or under often leave you in awe of some of the racing that they produce. The ability to read the race ahead of them, and take quick evasive action often leaves your heart in your mouth. It is a talented group of drivers that we have with us this weekend – with the top drivers from throughout the UK and Ireland battling it out.
The Stock Rods complete the line up, as they race for their own Lochgelly Masters. Dean McGill will be defending the title. Daniel Davidson is hoping to make his debut in the formula, following on from Mike Courts and Keiron McKinnon who have both made the switch into the Stock Rod formula in recent weeks. Teri Linden has been in great form of late, taking two wins at the last outing for the formula, and she will be one to watch this weekend.
