There’s no rest bite here at HRP Lochgelly Raceway and the action continues on Saturday 14th March with the first major championship of the season taking place, and it is an ALL NEW Roof Title event for the 1600cc Bangers (Spedeworth Spec). The 1600s race for the Internations Championship with the winning drivers being able to show off the red / white checkered roof for the next 12 months.

The 1600cc Bangers have been a massive hit south of the border for a few years now, and we are pleased to be able to host the first ever Internations Championship for the formula, and aid the growth of the formula here in Scotland. There are drivers from throughout Scotland, Northern Ireland and England set to compete at the weekend. Ryan Martin and Jamie George are two of several Scottish based drivers keen to get there hands on the trophy, whilst Northern Ireland’s Steven Bolton joins us too. There are a number of English drivers joining us, including Ricky Hutton and Craig Royal. There will no doubt be a number of drivers chasing success, whilst there will be a few others looking to spoil the party for some and cause carnage on the track. Drivers must ensure their race car complies with the formula rules, found Here. Any driver not booked in will be required to start from the rear of the grid in the Internations Championship race, with all other drivers drawing for grid position.

The ORCi Ministox make their first outing of the season at HRP Lochgelly Raceway, and it looks set to be a good meeting for the youngsters. Cody Wilson and Oakley Grief are set to make their Ministox debuts at Lochgelly, whilst we also welcome Charlie and Bonnie Weston. Stuart Shevill will be aiming for success in 2026 and will be one to watch throughout the year, whilst Shaun Boyle, Ben McLellan and Jayden Roff will be amongst several drivers all looking to be the one’s to take the plaudits. The Ministox have always produced fast, hard and competitive racing here at Lochgelly Raceway, and we expect the formula to be one to watch once more this weekend.

The Stock Rods are back in action after an excellent outing on the 28th February, where they arguably stole the show with lots of scintillating racing, bumper to bumper and door to door racing. There were a few bumps along the way, but on the whole, the formula was a joy to watch from a spectators perspective, and we anticipate another hard night of racing this weekend. Keith Stewart hopes to make his debut in the formula. Lee McGill, Teri Linden, Daniel Davidson and Fraser Anderson were all ones to watch last time out – who will be the ones to watch this weekend?

The National Hot Rods are back with us having seen one of the best domestic outings for a few years last time out, and we are hopeful of another great meeting for the formula. The Nationals are the pinnacle of non-contact oval racing in the UK, and are gearing up for the DPC European Championship in May here at Lochgelly. John Sibbald hopes to join us on Saturday, debuting his new car. James Mooney is also booked to participate, whilst we should also see our regular drivers such as Gordon Alexander, Ross McWilliam, Charlie Hardie, Ian Donaldson, Roy Anderson, Chris Leslie and Barry Stephen.

The 1400 Stock Cars complete the line up and the armoured hatch back cars will be looking to entertain once more. There were a few talking points last time out, and it will be interesting to see if there is any follow up this weekend – and if so, lets hope the drivers involved try and keep to hard, fast racing. Charlie Henry started her 2026 campaign off in good form and will be looking to maintain that this Saturday, with hopes of another good points haul. Fraser Clark looks to have turned the corner after a challenging 2025, and will be back to the red grade this week having took two race wins last time out.

We hope that you enjoy your visit with us at HRP Lochgelly Raceway. Pick up a fixture list at the main reception to see what we have in store for the rest of the season.

A reminder, we have 50 50 TICKETS AVAILABLE FROM THE MAIN RECEPTION FOR JUST £1 PER STRIP, WITH HALF THE TAKINGS GOING TO THE WINNER.
