This coming Saturday at HRP Lochgelly Raceway, we have a feast of mouthwatering action to look forward too, with five formula taking to the track.
The National Micro Bangers will wreak havoc on the track as they set about chasing qualification for the Micro Banger World Cup later in the season – Drivers from England and Scotland are set to participate, with a wildcard entry on the line. Jamie Sangster leads the line up as the HRP National Points Champion, whilst William Stawiarski will be out on track looking to scoop a number of entertainer points too!
The CC Rods race in round 3 of the AC Roads and Driveways British Championship series, with a healthy field of cars expected to be in attendance. Lee Scott was in fine form last time out, and he’ll be hoping to carry that on as he chases a front row position for the British Championship race later in the campaign. Gregor Whyte, Baillie Glencross and Alec Cunningham will all also be chasing the points as they look to put themselves in contention. Ian Donaldson has been back to his best, and has taken a number of race wins this year, whilst Kevin Donaldson also made a return last time out, and looked to be straight on the pace! The meeting final winner this weekend will also take away a new tyre courtesy of AC Roads and Driveways.
The Superstox feature once more – and with their European Championship less than one month away, there is a lot on the line, with a number of drivers looking to pay a visit over the next couple of events. Martyn Coles joined us last time out, whilst this weekend, we welcome 44 Ollie Jones. Adam Low, Kenny McKenzie, Aaron Riddell and Bryan Forrest all had some great battles a couple of weeks ago, and all put the front bumper to good effect throughout the event with a lot of end to end action between the drivers. Can we expect another fine display from the open wheel formula? Who’s going to come out on top this weekend?
The 2.0 Hot Rods are one of the most competitive formula on the ovals – and with this being the final meeting at Lochgelly ahead of the World Final, we welcome a couple of visiting drivers – with more potentially joining us too that aren’t yet booked in. Ben Murray, Drew McKeown and Jason Secker all hope to be with us as they look to get a final setup before the World Championship in less than one month’s time. Charlie Hardie, Mark Dews, Keith Brown and Allan Gibson will all likely lead the local drivers charge, however, Jack MacLeod has had an excellent start to his time in the 2.0 hot rods, and cannot be discounted. Natalie Mason hopes to make her debut in the class having made the switch from the CC Rod formula. The 2.0 Hot Rods are capable of producing super close racing, that will keep you on the edge of your seat as the drivers battle just millimetres away from each other.
The Junior Productions are the fifth and final formula in attendance on Saturday 17th May. The youngsters have produced lots of excellent racing over the course of the season so far, with lots of different race winners. The youngsters have excelled at times, with drivers finding confidence and the desire to fight for race wins. Candice Smart narrowly leads the way at the top of the points chart, with Nicole Innes and Caden Wotherspoon her closest challengers. Connor st Aubyn and Katie Lee Smart are both set to make their first outings of the season. The Junior Productions also have an extra prize up for grabs courtesy of Tam at Revtech Engines.
