Saturday 12th April at Lochgelly Raceway will see plenty of great racing, thrills and spills as the drivers across the formula, give lots to look forward too!
The CC Rods compete in round 2 of the AC Roads & Driveways British Championship Series, Gregor Whyte and Baillie Glencross are currently tied at the top of the chart as we enter round 2 – the halfway stage. Baillie Glencross has shown she has the grit and determination to fend of the rest of the pack, and is capable of producing yet another fine performance as she looks to cement herself at the head of the chart. Alec Cunningham will be hoping for a better meeting having run into a few issues last time out – the Scottish Champion will be hoping to make steady progress on Saturday as he hopes to come away with a good haul of points. Kenny Pitcaithly missed R1 of the series, but certainly looked quick last time out for the CC Rods, as he found himself in amongst the top 3 places regularly on the night. Lee Scott is a regular front runner in the CC Rod formula, and he’ll be looking to climb up the rankings on Saturday. With a tyre also up for grabs in the meeting final thanks to AC Driveways, there is a lot to race for!
The Superstox formula are with us for the first of two consecutive meetings, with the drivers now starting to think about tyres for the upcoming championship events. The Superstox formula have started the season off well, with plenty of close, fast and competitive racing. Aaron Riddell has been a regular front runner, but it hasn’t all been plain sailing. Adam Low, Kenny McKenzie and the likes have all delivered strong performances, and aren’t afraid to get stuck in when required to do so. Josh Duff, Dylan Anderson and Scott Devine have all shown good pace from the front end of the grid, and all three move up the grades in April – it’ll be good to see how the drivers cope starting a little further back, and how long they can put up a challenge to the hard pushing stars coming from the rear. Craig Stephen is set to make his debut in the formula having purchased an ex Bradbury car.
The Junior Productions have risen in stature over the last year or so, with the drivers pushing the bar and delivering excellence on a regular basis – the youngsters have great ability on track, and it has been a joy to see the drivers come into themselves as they grow their on track confidence. Marley Montgomery, Nicole Innes, Kenzie Kopacz, Candice Smart, Lee Moore and Caden Wotherspoon are just a few of the drivers that have really stood out in the early part of the 2025 season. With new grades coming into effect though, it may once more mix things up, and give opportunities to another set of drivers looking to score some good results. Connie Anderson and Jack Baird will fancy there chances of success on Saturday, with a couple of regular attendee’s missing.
The Rookie Bangers are with us for the second time this season, with another decent field of cars expected. It is hoped that we can get upto the mid teens number wise come Saturday, but regardless, we are sure that the Rookie Banger formula will provide great on track action, as the drivers look to both entertain, and score points. A mix of Scottish and English drivers are once more with us, as drivers vie to stay at the top end of the points as they look to secure places in the Banger World Championship come November!
The Scrapco Metal Recycling Ninja Karts are with us once more – continuing on in their impressive start to the 2025 year. The early part of the season has seen a few visitors join us, with eyes on the European Championship in June. Jayden Jeffrey has shown good consistency in the early part of the year, and currently sits second in the track points championship, however, Rory Wilson, Henry Hunn, Stuart Shevill and Christopher Lattka will all be showcasing their talents on Saturday too, in a field of karts that is extremely competitive. Ryan Love is perhaps a surprising leader of the track points, but the youngster thoroughly deserves to be there having claimed a few race wins already this season.
The action gets underway at 5.30pm.
