It’s the 2025 season finale at HRP Lochgelly Raceway and it is set to be a fantastic ending to the season. Whilst we aim to raise as much money as possible through our charity events, there is a feast of exciting racing to look forward to as well, with four great formula taking to the track with good numbers throughout.
The 2 seater experiences get underway at 2pm, with a range of Hot Rods, Stock Rods, CC Rods and ProStocks taking to the track to deliver these experiences. There is limited availability and this can be paid for at the drivers sign in office from 1pm at a cost of £30 per session. Helmet, Overalls and Gloves are required – please ensure you have access to these before booking. The two seater experiences get underway at 2pm – please ensure you have signed on ahead of this time to ensure you don’t miss your slot. The experiences will run for an initial one hour, with a further hour or so after the first Ninja Kart heat.
Into the meeting the U Pull It 1300 Stock Cars Ladies Race will take place after the first hour of 2 seater experiences – this race has been an exciting affair in recent years with carnage, great racing, and a fair amount of competitiveness from the drivers!! It has also been a great fund raising event with £1000-£2000 regularly raised just on this race along. The mechanics will take to the track after the second session of the 2 seater experiences. This again, has provided good racing in the past and been beneficial to raising funds for our charities. Can some of these drivers go better than the main drivers?
The Scrapco Metal Recycling Ninja Karts will be the first of the main races, taking to the track after the ladies race, with heat 1 for the youngsters as they race in their Scottish Masters event. We anticipate that this will be a two thirds format with each driver competing in 2 our of 3 heats on the night, to determine the grid for the Masters race later in the event. There are currently 30+ youngsters booked to participate, and it promises to be another thrilling meeting with lots of close and competitive action through the night. Louie Hendry and Rory Wilson have been the two previous winners of this event, with Wilson looking to defend the title. Pre-determined graded grids will be used to determine the starting grid for the Masters Race.
The Superstox formula take to the track as they chase the Mick Taylor sponsored Lochgelly Masters – 119 Aaron Riddell is defending the title but there will be around 20 other drivers all looking to come away successful. The open wheel formula is capable of serving up some scintillating on track action, with bumpers going in throughout the field. A number of visiting drivers are set to make an appearance including 1300 Stock Car multi champion, Curtis Tebbenham. Callum Kelman, Dan Cole, Gary Chisolm and Reid Murray are set to make the trip north to join us in attendance. Following on from the Masters race, the Great Dane Welfare Scotland Dash for Cash will take place – With £15 going to each driver leading at the end of each lap, and £100 to the overall winner, plus a tyre will be up for grabs too to a driver who the sponsor believes is deserving of it. Finally, a charity mechanics race will take place at the end of the night, with funds going towards our four nominated charities.
The ORCi Ministox race for the HRP Disco Trophy – Won in previous years by Ethan Gemmell and Charlie Hardie, but with both drivers now having moved on from the Ministox, a new name will be added to the trophy this year. David Philp has been the dominant driver, but will no doubt face stern competition on Saturday as the likes of Stuart Shevill, Rhys Anderson & Charlie Lomas chase success. The Ministox have provided great racing over the season with plenty of metal crunching action, and tit for tat racing.
The U-Pull-It 1300 Stock Cars complete the line up, and the formula are racing in the annual Michelle Freck Memorial event – an event that every driver goes out and gives there best for. Michelle was an invaluable member of the HRP team, who we sadly lost several years ago – but her memory lives on as the drivers look to honour her in the best way possible – an all action, exciting stock car race! Fraser Clark won the race in 2024 and will be hoping everything turns good for him on Saturday as he looks to defend and hold onto the shield for the second successive year. With 20+ drivers booked to race, it could well be anyone that comes out on top! The hard hitting hatch back stock cars are always one to watch, and we are sure that the formula will deliver excellent racing one final time in 2025! With added incentive from Revtech Race Engines, the top point scoring driver will receive an extra £100!
