Saturday 13th September Preview Saturday 13th September Preview
Following on from a week of absence, we are back in action this Saturday, 13th September for another bout of action packed stock car and banger racing at HRP Lochgelly Raceway. Stand just metres away from the action - feel the wind, feel every impact and live the moment as the adrenaline fuelled action sets your pulse into overdrive.

The 2.0 Bangers feature for the first time in a few years at HRP Lochgelly Raceway, as the formula take to the track in numbers as they battle it out for the 2025 Pete McVay Memorial. Around 30 drivers are expected to take to the track as they look to entertain throughout the event. The race winner in the Pete McVay memorial will walk away with a cool £440, with the remaining places also having extra incentive. Each race will see £100 go to the best entertainer in that race, whilst the evening will round off with a demolition derby. Subject to participants, the DD winner will walk away with over £300, whilst the most destructive driver in the DD will also come away with £250. We would like to thank everyone for making this event possible, and to Lothian Property Services and Dakota Print and Embroidery for the sponsorship towards the event.

The Superstox race in the prestigious John Gibson Memorial event – an event that has seen different winners on each of its four runnings’. Colin Frame, Ciaran Adams, Lee Livingston and Dean Johnston are former winners of the event – Can Dean Johnston retain the commemorative trophy for a further year, or will there be a new winner in 2025? Better known in the drift scene, Max Fleckney takes to the track in a Superstox for the first time – How will he fair, and will he get the bug for it? Time will tell. Craig Stephen has been one of the stars of the season, having started out with little to no oval experience, but has moved up through the grades and isn’t afraid to get stuck in neither. We would like to thank EMTO Containers for their support and additional sponsorship of this event, with extra prize money being offered for the meeting final as a result.

The CC Rods are in action – and despite a few drivers unavailable to race this weekend, we still see a good number of drivers booked to race and set to take to the track. Ian Donaldson returns having been on the sidelines for a few months, whilst Regan Irvine is set to make his debut in the formula. The CC Rods have provided lots of close, competitive action over the course of the season with multiple drivers having the skill and pace to succeed on a regular basis – with more and more drivers getting quicker with each passing meeting. We would like to thank Graham at Specialist Roofing for supporting the event this weekend – with four tyres up for grabs in the meeting final.

The Junior Productions have provided a lot of great racing this year, with a highly competitive field of drivers with very little between most of them. There has been a great number of newcomers enter the formula too, with many of those still gaining valuable experience and race craft. This mix of abilities often results in some breathtaking racing as the more experienced drivers navigate the way through the traffic, whilst trying to maintain race positions. William Plenderleith was in great form over the British Championship weekend, whilst there was many strong Scottish performances throughout that weekend. Sometimes, it is easy to forget that it is kids racing these cars and that they’ll make mistakes on track – which could throw a race into carnage in a matter of seconds.

The Scrapco Metal Recycling Ninja Karts complete the line up of formula as they take to the track in their annual JusBounce event. Rayah Burns claimed the win in 2024 as she outscored everyone else on the night – With Rayah having now moved on from the formula, a new winner will be crowned this weekend. There has been many great, close and exciting races from the youngsters this year. There has also been a large number of newcomers into the formula, and that trend continues this weekend as Denni Forrest is set to take to the track for the first time. We also welcome Paul Crooks who joins us from Northern Ireland. The JusBounce shield is up for grabs and will go to the top point scorer on the night as results are announced (Longhurst system).

A reminder, we have 50 50 TICKETS AVAILABLE FROM THE MAIN RECEPTION FOR JUST £1 PER STRIP, WITH HALF THE TAKINGS GOING TO THE WINNER.

A reminder, motorsport can be dangerous. Please stay clear of the catch fence during racing, be observant throughout the event and keep all children accompanied at all times. The promotors do our utmost to ensure a safe environment for all, however, given the nature of the sport, risks cannot be fully eradicated.

All attendee’s are requested to drive with care whilst arriving and leaving the venue. Pedestrians and horse riders are a regular feature on the access road. Please give them room and respect.
