Saturday 27th will see us continue our recent run of major events with more major silverware up for grabs – This week it is the Superstox that race for the Marchstone Developments sponsored Scottish Championship. Alongside the Superstox, the Stock Rods race in the final round of the APEX Garden Buildings series whilst the National Hot Rods, 2.0 Hot Rods & Ministox all also feature.

The open wheeled Superstox formula have produced some brilliant racing over the course of the season with plenty of drivers battling it out. Aaron Riddell has been the dominant force, however, in any formula where contact is permitted, it is not always about being the quickest. A pre race grid draw will see the starting positions determined ‘out the hat’, and that could really throw a spanner in the works in determining who comes out on top. Reigning Scottish Champion Dean Johnston is a doubt having picked up an injury in Northern Ireland last weekend, though he is hoping to be in attendance. Adam Low has been in good form of late – his car going well, and he has earned some good results for his efforts – a fifth place finish in the World Championship just last weekend was a fine achievement. Adam isn’t afraid to use the bumper neither though, and will give as good as he gets, whoever it is. Bryan Forrest made a return to racing earlier this year and has now familiarised himself with his new car, and he will certainly be in with a shout. As a former Scottish Champion, he knows how to win! Kenny McKenzie has consistently been there or thereabouts this year, and although his World Championship didn’t last long last weekend, he’ll have things sorted for this weekend and will be looking to put himself in a position to be in with a chance of success in the Scottish Championship. Danny Whyte has proven himself in the Superstox formula of late, producing some fine races especially in the wet conditions – an outside bet, but he’ll certainly fancy his chances. Craig Stephen likewise, a newcomer to the formula this year, has found his feet and is certainly one to be reckoned with. A double race winner last time out at Lochgelly, he could well be a dark horse for Scottish Championship success. A full format meeting will follow on, and we welcome Gary Chisolm north of the border once more for the remaining races.

The Stock Rods race in the final round of the APEX Garden Buildings series with four tyres up for grabs on the night. Grade awards will go the way of the drivers starting grade at the start of the season – not necessarily their current grade. Fraser Anderson currently leads the way for the ‘White Grade’ award, Teri Linden leads the way for the ‘Yellow Grade’ award, Kyle Hutchison leads the way for the ‘Blue Grade’ award and Gary Dean leads the way in the ‘Red Grade’ award. With a few of these drivers set to miss out this weekend, the door is open for others to haul in some points and overtake those around them. Kevin Stewart is set to make his second appearance in the Stock Rod formula as he continues to learn the ropes in the FWD class.

The ORCi Ministox join us for the first time in what feels like quite some time. The youngsters have historically produced brilliant racing with absolutely no fear as they race almost flat out around Lochgelly Raceway. The front bumpers are used to move the opposition, but this must b done skilfully, or the drivers risk slowing themselves down in the process. David Philp has been the dominant force in 2025, securing the major championships and setting some of the fastest laps across the tracks. Stuart Shevill has shown that he has the speed to compete as he has done on multiple occasions, however, perhaps lacks the experience that Philp has at times. Shaun Boyle has been a steady runner throughout the course of the season, whilst Jamie Balfour has progressed excellently since stepping up from the Ninja Karts.

The 2.0 Hot Rods and National Hot Rods complete the line up.

A reminder, we have 50 50 TICKETS AVAILABLE FROM THE MAIN RECEPTION FOR JUST £1 PER STRIP, WITH HALF THE TAKINGS GOING TO THE WINNER.
