It’s a fantastic Friday this weekend at Lochgelly Raceway with three fantastic formula taking to the track on Friday 30th August as we look to provide an action packed and entertaining start to the weekend.
The U Pull It 1300 Stock Cars are back with us for the first time since their World Championship event a couple of weekends ago. World Champion, 638 Darren Rae will be with us as will Inter-Nations Cup Champion, 126 Danny Whyte. Add in Scottish and National Points Champion, Fraser Clark, and Supreme Championship winner Jamie Stewart, and we have a superb line up of drivers taking to the track on Friday night. Of course, there is more than just these four – 20+ other drivers will all be joining them on the track and looking to claim a win or two along the way, making things are hard as possible for the hard chargers coming from the rear of the grid. The hard hitting ironed up hatchback formula will provide lots of great entertainment and keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the night. Englishman, Luke Gordon is set to join us once more.
The ORCi Ministox feature and with almost 30 drivers booked to race, it will be an action packed night of racing from the youngsters. The Ministox class never fails to disappoint here at Lochgelly Raceway, with two differing corners providing for some exciting racing. The drivers are permitted to push and spin competitors out the way as they look to progress through the grid. An influx of southern visitors has bolstered the field this weekend, and it is a recipe for fantastic stock car racing!
The CC Rods complete the line up – the budget non-contact class often provides dramatic moments, thrills and spills here at HRP Lochgelly Raceway. The formula has seen numbers increase steadily across the season, with a few new drivers entering the class – Brooke McMullan and Lewis Mason are both newcomers to the formula in recent weeks. A lot of drivers are very evenly matched – Craig Mason, Ian Christie, Lee Scott, Alec Cunningham, Kevin Hutchison and Gregor Whyte are often the front runners, however, given the nature of the formula, there are often other drivers stepping up and performing excellently. Garry Roberts, Natalie Mason and John Gorman are all more than capable of success though haven’t had much in the way of luck across the season. Skill, risk and determination are the key ingredients for success as the drivers look to find a way past their competitors without using brute force.
We ask all guests to please take care when arriving and leaving the venue. The access road to the stadium is often used by horses and pedestrians walking - please give space and respect to them. The drivers sign in office will open at 5.15pm, whilst practice will get underway at 6.00pm. The sign in office will close 15minutes before the first race. Thereafter, drivers must sign in from the main reception. The first race gets underway at 7.00pm.
50 50 TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE MAIN RECEPTION FOR JUST £1 PER STRIP, WITH HALF THE TAKINGS GOING TO THE WINNER.Drivers are reminded that they are responsible for leaving a tidy pit area, utilizing the bins provided, or taking rubbish away with them. Any teams found to be leaving their pit area untidy, will be fined and possibly banned from attending race meetings. The spectator gates will open at 5.30pm, with trackside parking only available on a first come first served basis. High sided vehicles are requested to park on the upper level, and the far end of the middle level, so not to obstruct views of those behind them.
