Saturday 10th August Saturday 10th August Saturday 10th August
Saturday 10th August is sandwiched between two speedweekends here at Lochgelly Raceway. Saturday will see five formula take to the track – the ORCi Ministox racing for a tyre courtesy of WMH Developments, CC Rods, Ninja Karts, Classic Hot Rods & Superstox.

The Superstox are with us following on from their National Championship last weekend at Hednesford, where a number of our drivers attended. The open wheel class has seen some great racing over the course of the season with the likes of Dean Johnston, Kenny McKenzie and Ciaran Adams having to come from the rear of the grid. Aaron Riddell has made a return to action of late in the ex Michael Green car and has scored some great results with it already as he aims to challenge for the podium places on a regular basis. Josh Duff made his Superstox debut last time out, and will be hoping to be with this weekend once more. Duff put in some stellar drives, however found himself drop out of contention with some car issues that he’ll be hoping to have rectified this time out.

The CC Rods have provided a lot of extremely close racing over the season with a multitude of drivers battling it out for the podium places. Despite having car numbers that have been lower than in previous years, the formula continues to provide entertaining racing, with car numbers moving in the correct direction once more. Brooke McMullan recently joined the class and didn’t look out of place last time out, though was caught on the outside of John Downs and the two drivers had an unfortunate clash. Lewis Mason hopes to make his debut in the class this week, whilst the likes of Lee Scott, Ian Christie and Alec Cunningham all hope to come away with a good haul of points.

The ORCi Ministox are a fantastic formula, and always provide excellent racing. The ironed up Mini’s allow for contact racing, with drivers permitted to push and spin each other out of the way. Nicole Allardyce has found her confidence in the class, and has been scoring well here at Lochgelly over the last few meetings, and a race win is certainly on the horizon. Shaun Boyle has had a mixed season – he has shown great pace however hasn’t had much in the way of luck, with the youngster having a few issues throughout the season. Shaun though, never gives up and is always on the front foot and looking to race for the podium positions. Dougie Kidd has been one of the top point scorers over the last couple of months. Racing away with multiple race victories, and not looking out of place in the red grade, he is certainly one to watch out for. ORCi Champion, David Philp has been consistently one of the front runners throughout the season and looks set to win the HRP National Points in the not too distant future as well. The #29 car is always immaculately prepared to the highest standard, and the driver never backs out of a challenge. A hard racer, but also a very quick racer.

The Ninja Karts have provided some really good racing, with a number of drivers picking up invaluable experience with a good amount of meetings for the formula helping them. It has been excellent to see the likes of Alfie MacLeod, Blair Innes, Ryan Love and Alix Martin pick up some good results of late, with each of them holding their own for long periods. They’ll all be looking to get some more points on the board this weekend. Up front, Rory Wilson, Henry Hunn and Jayden Jeffrey have all been consistent front runners with many top 3 places scored amongst them throughout the year.

The Classic Hot Rods are the final formula in attendance. The strict non-contact class is always a joy to see on track.

The drivers sign in office will open at 2.15pm, whilst practice will get underway at 3.00pm. The sign in office will close 30minutes before the first race. Thereafter, drivers must sign in from the main reception. The first race gets underway at 5.30pm.
