This Saturday at Lochgelly Raceway, Saturday 8th June, we see four formula take to the track as they look to put on another great display of stock car action.
The U Pull It 1300 Stock Cars are with us once more, and are back in force. With almost 25 cars booked to race, it should be an exciting, action packed race event for the formula. Michael Lithgow is set to make his debut in the class, whilst Ally Strachan hopes to make his first appearance of the season. Bryce Kempson makes a return to action after his car suffered a fair amount of damage last time it was on track. Blair Robertson looked back to his best last time out as he found himself challenging for race wins throughout the evening, and he will be hoping that the corner has been turned and he continues to make positive progress. Fraser Clark has been Mr Consistency this year, steadily scoring points, picking up good results and using his experience to the best of his abilities as he reigns in on the National Points Championship. Jake Wilson and Dean Sievwright have both had impressive 2024 campaigns so far, with Wilson flying early on in the year, before taking a bit of time to settle in the red grade. Sievwright meanwhile has made steady progress, and has achieved a lot of great results for his efforts, both at home and on the road.
The National Hot Rods compete in their final round of the 2023-24 World Qualifying campaign, with Gordon Alexander having raced in every round so far. He’ll be looking to give his car a good shake down this weekend with the World Championship less than a month away. Marc Spence and Alex Wilson both returned to the formula last time out, with Spence picking up a well deserved race win. Darren Scott has had a much improved 2024, and is quickly becoming one of the front runners in the formula – and is in with a chance of qualifying for the World Championship. Ian Donaldson has had a mixed campaign so far – he has shown great pace but has often had some reliability issues and has missed a few meetings – though still sits firmly in 2nd place in the points charts.
The ProStocks have been in great form so far in 2024, with lots of race winners, exciting action and numerous talking points already. Jamie George has took a massive leap over the winter months, and has started the 2024 season as one of the front running drivers here at Lochgelly Raceway, regularly coming away with top 5 results. Ian Christie, Dougie Kidd and Paul Barron have all had some excellent battles so far, with very little between the drivers, though Kidd and Barron are a little more aggressive when required – which sometimes goes in their favour, but often goes against them too! Hollie Ritchie and Owen Bonner have both proven themselves to have the ability to win races, holding a steady line and displaying some great pace in the process as well, and both will be ones to watch on Saturday night.
The 2.0 Hot Rods are with us following on from their action packed British Championship weekend. Scottish Champion Keith Brown will be with us once more as he looks to claim the National Points Championship. Allan Gibson should be with us – one of the best performing Scottish drivers last weekend – as he looks to get his 2024 campaign on track having missed the first few meetings of the season. Mark Dews has just returned from holiday and should be with us – he’ll be looking to continue his excellent form that he has shown in 2024 already as he looks to claim some more race victories.
