Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th October 2024 will see our final speed weekend of the 2024 season take place and it promises to be a spectacular weekend full of on track action.
Headlined by the 2024 Fife Medical Group National Micro Banger World Cup. Over 60 Micro Bangers are set to be in attendance with the aim of winning the 2024 World Cup. There will be additional awards throughout the weekend - best presented car, weekend entertainer, as well as a mega prize fund on the DD at the end of Sunday afternoon. Almost 70 Micro Bangers are booked to race (at time of writing) with 30+ drivers set to battle it out in the last chance race in order to gain a place on the 2024 Micro Banger World Cup grid, joining the 30+ already seeded drivers. Upto 10 drivers will make the cut and join in at the rear of the main grid. Following on from the World Cup race, two all-comers races will take place on the Saturday night, before the action re-commences on the Sunday afternoon. The Open Scottish Championship will be raced for, whilst there will be a DD at the end of the afternoon with over £200 up for grabs in that DD. Can Sean McConnachie claim the World Cup for the second successive year, or will another driver reign victorious?
The U-Pull-It 1300 Stock Cars are with us once more, as they battle it out for their Lochgelly Masters – an annual event which takes place at the October Speed weekend. Fraser Clark has won it the two previous years – can he make it three on the bounce? Jamie Stewart has been in a rich veign of form this year, pushing his way to the top of the points charts, and claiming the Scottish Championship along the way. He’ll be one to watch once more. Sam Owen makes the trip north to be with us, whilst we also have visiting interest from Lee Jordan who has been a feature at this weekend on more than one occasion. The armoured hatchback style cars aren’t for the weak hearted with metal crunching action highly anticipated.
The Junior Productions have seen some very competitive racing this season with very little between much of the drivers, whilst the start of season novices have found their feet and are now challenging for podium places on a regular basis. With the Scottish Open up for grabs, we welcome a number of Northern Irish visitors. The Northern Irish aren’t no slouches, and regularly come away with silverware when they attend. The last three stagings of the Scottish Open have all been won by Northern Irish drivers- can one of the home drivers take the glory this weekend, or will the title once more, go over the water?
Finally, the ProStocks feature in their biggest event of the season – their World Cup. Dougie Kidd took the title in 2023 and will be doing his utmost to claim glory once more. Kidd isn’t no slouch, and isn’t shy with the bumper when required to do so. Paul Barron and Dean McGill have had some good battles over the last couple of months. Grady Ross, Denver Ross, Lewis Gilchrist and Chris Mack have all been impressive of late and will all fancy their chances – however, with the World Cup being the last race of the weekend, all drivers will be looking to ensure they put themselves in the best possible position for success. The ProStock formula have provided no end of entertainment this year, and we expect some fantastic racing over the two days from the class.
50 50 TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE MAIN RECEPTION FOR JUST £1 PER STRIP, WITH HALF THE TAKINGS GOING TO THE WINNER.
A reminder, motorsport can be dangerous. Please stay clear of the catch fence during racing, be observant throughout the event and keep all children accompanied at all times. The promotors do our utmost to ensure a safe environment for all, however, given the nature of the sport, risks cannot be fully eradicated.
All attendee’s are requested to drive with care whilst arriving and leaving the venue. Pedestrians and horse riders are a regular feature on the access road. Please give them room and respect.Race Team Information
