This coming Saturday at HRP Lochgelly Raceway we take to the track once more, with five great formula to look forward too.
Featuring the ORCi Ministox HRP Marshals Shield, U-Pull-It 1300 Stock Cars, National Hot Rods, 2.0 Hot Rods & ProStocks, there is something for everyone, whether you’re a fan of non-contact or contact formula. Stand just metres from the action as the cars race by, feel the ground vibrate beneath your feet and get a taste of the adrenaline fuelled action!
The ORCi Ministox are with us for the second time this year – the formula is set to see around 20 cars take to the track with a great mix of experienced, up and coming drivers and newcomers to the sport. Last time out at HRP Lochgelly Raceway, we seen David Philp Jnr and Stuart Shevill Jnr have some epic battles with next to nothing between the pair for much of the night. Bailey Wilson looks to have hit the ground running in the formula, having took away a few race wins in his short career already, and he will no doubt be one to watch on Saturday night. Shaun Boyle didn’t have too much in the way of luck last time out, but the youngster certainly has the pace and ability to be in the mix for podium places, and we expect to see Shaun on the pace on Saturday night. Jack Jones hopes to be with us once more – the southern based star isn’t a stranger to Lochgelly, having done many laps in his Ninja Kart career around the track – albeit, the other direction. Jack didn’t look out of place in the formula last time out, and was in the thick of the action throughout the night. Jack Jones will be hoping to keep his car pointing the right direction this weekend as he aims to get some more points on the board. Jayden Roff hopes to make his debut in the formula, having celebrated his birthday last week. Charlie Weston may well also be in attendance – the former Ninja Kart star hasn’t yet raced at Lochgelly in the Ministox. It’ll be interesting to see how the newcomers to the formula get on this Saturday, with the HRP Marshals shield also up for grabs!
The National Hot Rods are with us as they continue to seek qualification for the World Championship in July. The top drivers are mighty close in the points, with Gordon Alexander currently leading the way. Ross McWilliam and Ian Donaldson have both taken hat-tricks of race wins this season already, and both will be looking to continue the push towards the top of the points. Derek Connor and James Robertson are both also in the mix, and both will be hoping to come away with good points hauls this Saturday night. The National Hot Rods will contest the 2025 DPC European Championship here in May – a weekend we are eagerly anticipating!
The ProStock formula were one of the highlights of the 2024 season as the formula returned to its best – providing great racing with good fields of cars. The formula have started 2025 well with a good turn out of cars last time out, and with 20+ cars expected this Saturday, we anticipate high octane action as the nudge and spin formula looks to provide the best of the on track action. Rachel Kidd and Becki Ritchie were the stars of the formula last time out with the girls showing the boys the way, as they both claimed victories. Champion grade drivers, Paul Barron, Dougie Kidd and Grady Ross will all have there work cut out, as they try and make inroads into catching some of the very quick drivers starting in front of them!
The 2.0 Hot Rods are with us once more, and with only a few meetings remaining before the cut off for the 2025 World Championship, there is still plenty at stake. Olivia Krzyzanowska is set to make her first appearance of the season, whilst Mark Brady will be with us once more too – with a bit more time to prepare for this weekend’s racing, having rushed to get the car on track for our last meeting. Jack Macleod hasn’t looked out of place in the 2.0 Hot Rod, and has shown good pace at each of the two previous outings. Macleod will be looking to continue that form as he moves up the grades – but can he keep the likes of Keith Brown, Charlie Hardie and Mark Dews at bay? Can any of them catch Craig Mason up front? Mason himself has found good pace in his new car, and has improved at the two passed events. Can the 703 pilot put himself in contention for race wins on Saturday?
The U-Pull-It 1300 Stock Cars are with us once more – and they too only have a couple of meeting remaining before the first major championship of the season – the Specialist Roofing British Championship event over the 10th and 11th May here at HRP Lochgelly Raceway. The ironed up hatch back formula always provide good close racing, with little between much of the top drivers in the formula. However, with the 1300 Stock Cars, if the driver ahead is holding another up, then the challenging driver is well within their rights to shove the opposition out the way. They need to make sure it is done properly though, as you’ll often find the other car come back at you the following corner if you haven’t done it right!! This allows for exciting, dramatic and end to end exciting stock car racing! Kevin Graham is set to make the step up into the class from the Ministox.
