Friday Night Thunder Returns

As the storm barely settles following the excellent race meeting last weekend, we are back for another feast of mouthwatering action this Friday night.
The 1300 Stock Cars are back with us and will be looking to put on another show stopping event, in what is their final meeting ahead of their Spedeworth TV sponsored European Championship on the 3rd and 4th June, here at Lochgelly Raceway. Charlie Henry was in dominant form last week as she picked up a couple of excellent race wins, which will see her move back to the blue grade for Friday’s event. Fraser Clark has been making good progress of late, and has been scoring some good points for his efforts, despite having to come through from near the back of the grid. Chris Gold was in the thick of the action last week, and will be hoping to stay out of bother this weekend as he looks to get some more points on the board. Jason McAlpine is set to be with us having been forced to miss out last weekend, and will be looking to score enough points to get him on the grid for the European Championship.
The CC Rods have provided good racing throughout the last few years, with a lot of respect being shown between the drivers of late – enhancing the race quality, and giving the spectators some great racing happening before their eyes. Gary Nicholls has been in great form since his return to racing, though, a mix of lower graded drivers have ensured that nothing is simple for the faster drivers, as they all look to hold a solid line making their cars as wide as legally possible. Ian Christie, Lee Scott and Alec Cunningham are all set to be with us as they continue to battle it out for the podium places.
The ORCi Ministox are the final formula in action, and with over 20+ cars a regular feature this year, the racing has always been entertaining. The up and coming drivers have shown they are no push overs, with lots of race wins going the way of the lower graded drivers already this year. David Philp Jnr has been steadily finding the pace, and getting good results for his efforts too. Ollie Sime has been a consistent front runner here at Lochgelly, but hasn’t quite had the luck that his efforts have deserved. Demi Ritchie, Rian Mitchell and Sam Cavanagh are all taking the challenge to Charlie Hardie and Jake Wilson in the battle for the national points championship – a challenge that looks set to run the course of the season!
The action gets underway at 7pm – be sure to join us then. Spectator gates open at 5.30pm.
Driver sign in will open at 5.00pm
