Van Banger Scottish Championship Van Banger Scottish Championship
As we move into November, Saturday 2nd will see the penultimate meeting of the season take place, and it promises to be spectacular!

The Van Bangers headline the bill as they compete in their Scottish Championship. Over 20 vans are booked to race and Paul Barron will be looking to defend the title he won in 2023. There is a wide variety of drivers, with some having raced previously, and others, it’s there first time on track! Lee Clarke will be looking to entertain throughout the evening, whilst Callum McIvor, Ciaran Adams and Ryan Love are both set to make an outing in the formula. A demolition derby will round off the evening.

The National Hot Rods feature in the final Scottish WQR of the year, with 6 rounds remaining in 2025. Gordon Alexander has shown great pace in the Mazda, whilst Derek Connor put in some impressive lap times in his Ginetta as well. Both drivers are still finding their feet with their new machinery, and both are aiming to make the World Championship next season. Ian Donaldson, James Robertson and Keith Chesher are all also expected to be in attendance.

The 2.0 Hot Rod formula has seen some very close and competitive racing across the course of the season – Keith Brown has won the domestic titles, but has been pushed harder than the points charts may show. Keith will be looking to end the year on a high, with Charlie Hardie emerging as a genuine front runner in the formula having amassed a lot of excellent results in his first half season in the formula. Allan Gibson has been consistently quick but has lacked good fortune at times, and he too will be aiming to finish the season on a high. David Frame, Olivia Krzyzanowska, Bryan Forrest and Chris Leslie are all also hoping to be in action.

The Stock Rods are in action for the first time since their Scottish Championship event a few weeks ago, where Gary Dean retained his title despite crossing the line in third position. Gary Dean will once more have the saltire on display this weekend, whilst Sean Naismith will be looking to close in on the track championship with a decent haul of points to overcome Robbie Armit. Koddi Wright and Stewart Aitken were both good performers last time out with both having the pace to challenge throughout the night. Wright and Aitken will both be fancying their chances for a victory or two this weekend. Kyle Hutchison will be hoping to end his year with three finishes, after being caught up in a few incidents over the last few meetings that have been little fault of his own! Teri Linden has came on leaps and bounds in the second half of the season, and has been battling it out at the front end of the field on a fairly regular basis and will be one to watch on Saturday night.

The Junior Productions are with us for one final time this season – the formula has certainly excelled with excellent numbers across the course of the year, providing lots of excellent racing along the way, whilst also having a few hair raising moments! We’ve no doubt the youngsters will all be aiming to finish the season on a high and put in an excellent display in front of the onlooking spectators.

We will also have fireworks during the event - please ensure everyone is behind the spectator barrier and clear of catch fencing during the show!

50 50 TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE MAIN RECEPTION FOR JUST £1 PER STRIP, WITH HALF THE TAKINGS GOING TO THE WINNER.

A reminder, motorsport can be dangerous. Please stay clear of the catch fence during racing, be observant throughout the event and keep all children accompanied at all times. The promotors do our utmost to ensure a safe environment for all, however, given the nature of the sport, risks cannot be fully eradicated.

All attendee’s are requested to drive with care whilst arriving and leaving the venue. Pedestrians and horse riders are a regular feature on the access road. Please give them room and respect.
