We are back for another bout of action this Saturday night at Lochgelly Raceway.
Saturday 15th May will see another fantastic five formula line up provide the entertainment, with the 2.0 Hot Rods looking to steal the plaudits for the 2nd time this season after an epic outing a couple of weeks ago.
William Hardie took the final victory 2 weeks ago, however, Cameron Willacy was arguably the driver of the meeting, putting in a sterling performance throughout the night. Robert McDonald, Jason Secker and Colin Wotherspoon will again start from the back of the grid having used 4 new tyres in one of the last 2 events. Gerry Hendry will be looking for improvement having struggled for pace at our season opener, despite being one of the most consistently quick drivers over the last couple of years. Track Champion Kevin Stewart scored a steady haul of points last time out and will be looking to improve again in the ex Dan Smith car. Connor Hughes and Drew McKeown will join us as they look to get some tracktime ahead of the British Championship – set to be held here on the 5th and 6th June!! We can expect 3 exciting races with plenty of drivers going for the win – can they keep it within the rule book, or will the race steward be called into action for driver discrepancies??? Find out on Saturday night!!
The Superstox are back with us, again with a number of visiting drivers – Alan and Steven Haugh will join us on track as they bolster the numbers somewhat with a host of home drivers still not quite ready to hit the track. Bryan Forrest battled superbly from the back of the grid 2 weeks ago to take the meeting final, though with Steven Ballentine in great form – he will again have his work cut out. Mark Dews, not yet booked into race, was another driver in fine form 2 weeks ago. Mark Brady is set to make his first outing of the season in a new car, having sold his old car to Billy Smith a few weeks ago!! Kenny McKenzie and Dean Johnston will also be looking to put in a strong performance as they look to take some points away from the rampant Bryan Forrest. Adam Low makes a welcome return to racing having sat out the last meeting having recently become a father for the first time – our congratulations go out to Adam!!
The Junior Productions – have over the last 12 months or so, rose in stature with numbers increasing consistently with yet more drivers still to make an appearance. Koddi Wright was in good form last time out, though fell foul to the steward for some contact – Koddi will be looking to clean up his act this time around to avoid falling foul yet again. Jensen Bell and Jack MacLeod are two drivers that have shot to the top of the formula over the last few meetings – with Jensen taking the final win just 2 weeks ago. Jack Baird looks set to make his debut having stepped up from the Ninja Kart class over the winter months, with sister Chloe also set to make her first appearance of the season. Lochgelly regular, Chelsey Rainey will again be with us as she looks set to make the most of her time in the formula. The Junior Productions are certainly becoming one of the most watchable formula with the experience on track being very mixed!
The CC Rods make their first outing of the season, with a decent field of cars expected – the ‘budget’ class generally always provides some hair raising moments – though with it being a non-contact class, some of the moves are often better found in 1300 Stock Cars!! Hopefully though, the drivers will keep in check and we will see some exciting, and close fast racing!
The ProStocks are the final formula in action this weekend.
Gates open for drive-in viewing at 3pm – limited availability remains for this, and can be booked through our Advanced Ticket section of our website only.
