Saturday 13th September was a fantastic night of stock car action at Lochgelly Raceway with plenty of on track action, great racing and difficult track conditions.

The 2.0 Bangers were in action for a rare outing at Lochgelly Raceway as they contested the Pete McVay Memorial Event, which seen a fantastic and enticing prize purse for the drivers. Lothian Property Services and Dakota Print and Embroidery sponsored the event which we are thankful for the support. The on track action was fantastic, and it was reminiscent of how banger racing always used to be – drivers all going for a crash and getting stuck in and looking to entertain. Ryan Martin and Ryan Scott had a great race up front with little between the pair as they chased the glory, with the two swapping positions throughout the race. It was Ryan Scott that came out on top though as he claimed victory in the first staging of the Pete McVay memorial. Ryan Martin took the win in the first all comers race as well as the final race of the day, before Bryan Piaskowski took the win in the DD and the entertainers awards.

The Superstox raced in the John Gibson Memorial event, being defended by Dean Johnston. It was a greasy night for racing, and it proved difficult for the top drivers to make inroads into some very quick and determined lower graded drivers throughout the night. Danny Whyte took the win in the opening heat just ahead of Craig Stephen, before Craig Stephen would go on to take a heat and final double, and claiming the John Gibson Memorial trophy in the process.

The Junior Productions produced some brilliant racing with the drivers all racing very closely throughout the night. With overtaking difficult at times, there was some brave moves around the outside in greasy conditions – at times we seen 3 abreast around the corners, and credit to the drivers, there were very little incidents. Three different winners on the night seen race wins go the way of Candice Smart, Bobby Whyte and Nicole Innes.

The CC Rods raced in their Specialist Roofing event, with two reverse grid heats determining the grid for the meeting final. Ian Donaldson returned to action and was unstoppable in the opening heat, before Lee Scott took the win in the following heat, and followed that up with a win in the Specialist Roofing final – with Ian Donaldson and Robert Conway completing the top 3.

The Scrapco Metal Recycling Ninja Karts were racing for the JusBounce shield, with a new winner a certainty with Rayah Burns having moved on from the formula. Ryan Love took the victory in the Whites and Yellows race, as well as the first main heat, with Alfie Shevill taking the win in heat 2, and the meeting final, and duly claiming the JusBounce shield just ahead of Blair Innes.
