The Super 2’s formula made their Scottish debut with just under 20 drivers making the trip to be with us. The formula provided excellent racing from the outset, with close, competitive and full contact action. Jordan Salmon and Stewart Adams looked to be the drivers to beat, with both taking a win and a runners up spot in the heats. Come the Scottish Championship, it was an epic battle up front, with four-five drivers in the mix for the most part of the race. However, Matt Smith and Stewart Adams would break clear of the pack and raced excellently til the flag, whilst Jordan Salmon defended his third place as best he can, before losing out in the closing stages with Reubon Dobson moving up into third. Adams tried a last bender on Smith for the win, but it wasn’t enough to dislodge the 761 car, with Smith going on to take the victory, and become the first ever Super 2s Scottish Champion.

The Rookie Bangers were in fine form with their the event being their final outing of the season. Around 15 drivers took to the track to battle it out with carnage on track throughout the night. Dayle Linton found himself on his roof early on, whilst the DD seem a large number of drivers participate and provide excellent action for the crowd. Race wins would go the way of Danny McMullan, Dylan Ward and Darren Linton.

The Junior Productions were in action once more – the formula welcoming a couple of new drivers in the shape of Marley Montgomery and Bobby Whyte. Both drivers did well on the night though both found themselves caught up in a couple of incidents. With 20+ cars taking to the track, it was a night where the youngsters struggled to make headway through the grids, which ultimately, resulted in a couple of incidents on the night, where the racing was stop start, and a number of penalties applied during each of the races! Connor st Aubyn drove to victory in the opening heat, whilst Leeland Dearn claimed victory in heat 2, before Scottish Champion Lewis Dickson took the win in the meeting final.

The Stock Rods were a little down on numbers with drivers missing for various reasons, however, the racing was competitive from the outset with little between much of the drivers. The lower graded drivers would prove difficult to both catch, and overcome. Koddi Wright and Jack MacLeod took 1st and 2nd in the opening heat, whilst John Lee Green and Koddi Wright took the top 2 places in the 2nd heat. The meeting final seen Sean Naismith and European Champion Robbie Armit come through to take the top 2 places, with Wright taking third in the meeting final.

The ORCi Ministox were the final formula in attendance. Rhys Kelly continued his excellent form here at Lochgelly Raceway, taking a further race win and claiming the lap record in the process. Caden Abernethy took his first win in the formula here at Lochgelly in heat 2, whilst Ollie Sime claimed victory in the meeting final.

The Saturday at Lochgelly Raceway, the U-Pull-It 1300 Stock Cars battle it out for their 2024 Scottish Championship. The event will also feature the Ninja Karts, National Hot Rods, ProStocks and CC Rods and gets underway at 5.30pm.
