It was the penultimate meeting of the season on Saturday 2nd November at Lochgelly Raceway and it was a vantastic event! It was a night that seen different winners in every race – a rarity these days!

The Van Bangers headlined the bill as they raced for their Scottish Championship. It was a HRP record for the number of vans, with 28 vans taking to the track on the day. This provided no end to the carnage, with vans getting stuck in from the outset. There were a wide variation of vans on track, with petrol and diesel transits, in amongst a few mini buses and Iveco’s. The vans provided a bit of a carnival atmosphere to the event, with many kids and adults getting photos with vans before they took to the track. Some took to the track with radios still in the van with tunes blasting as they raced much to the delight of the huge crowd. With 28 vans on track, there was soon a number of obstacles throughout the race with vans stricken across the track as the laps run on. In the end, a mere FOUR vans completed race distance, with Paul Barron coming through to retain his Scottish Championship title. The following races seen further good turnouts from the vans despite the wreckage on track! Ryan Love found himself on his side, whilst Richard Cairns got stuck in and almost found himself over as well! Kailin Bryson would take the win in the all comers race, before Gary Mentiplay took the win in the demolition derby!

The Junior Productions rounded off their 2024 campaign with more great racing – Kaitlyn Smart taking a win in the opening heat on what is her final junior production appearance, whilst Aiden Duffy and Lee Moore took the wins in the following races – Moores first win in the formula since joining mid season. There were some great performances in challenging conditions – Mia Cross, Marley Montgomery and Kenzie Kopacz all standing out well from the lower graded drivers.

The Stock Rods seen three different race winners on the night – Teri Linden taking the opening heat, before John Lee Green won heat 2, with Dean McGill taking the meeting final. Sean Naismith secured the track championship, clinching the lead by just four points!

The National Hot Rods seen Ian Donaldson come away with the win in the opening heat, before James Robertson drove to victory in heat 2, whilst Gordon Alexander took victory in the meeting final.

The 2.0 Hot Rods seen race wins go the way of David Frame and Bryan Forrest in the heats – a first race win for Forrest in the 2.0 class, with Charlie Hardie taking the win in the final after an excellent race with Keith Brown and Bryan Forrest.
