Saturday 26th April seen a great mix of close and fast racing, whilst there was also a number of talking points throughout the event with the Junior Productions having a bit of an ‘off’ meeting!
The Scrapco Metal Recycling Ninja Karts started off the event with there normal whites and yellows race, with some lower graded drivers taking to the track to build some experience and confidence. Jaxon Stone made his first visit to Lochgelly Raceway and didn’t look out of place, popping in some good steady laps. Harley Wilson continued his good form with another win in the race, with Alfie Macleod and Rudi Arcari completing the top three. The first main heat of the night seen the youngsters battle it out with the star graded drivers making a charge through the field. A couple of cautions during the race seen the pack bunched up and giving the star drivers an opportunity to close the field up. Alfie MacLeod had an impact with the wall resulting in one caution, whilst Alex Martin found herself stranded across the track and brought out another race caution. Rory Wilson, Jayden Jeffrey and Ryan Love took the top three places. Heat 2 would see the youngsters once more dazzle with some great racing, close calls and no shortage of edge of your seat moments. Ryan Love is another driver that has started off the 2025 season in great form, and took another race win in heat 2, finishing ahead of Rory Wilson and Henry Hunn. The meeting final seen Wilson claim victory ahead of Jeffrey and Alfie Shevill.
The Stock Rods were in action in R2 of the APEX Garden Buildings series, and for the final time ahead of the Spedeworth TV British Championship here over the 10th and 11th May – with drivers trying to get tyres built up whilst maintaining on track performance. Three different race winners on the night just shows how competitive this stock rod formula is at the moment. Mike Courts and Keiran McKinnon both made there debuts, with Courts showing good pace throughout the night, whilst McKinnon had a few car issues dampening his progress. Lee McGill and Kyle Hutchison would take the victories in the heats, before Teri Linden would be awarded the win in the meeting final as she adds to her impressive 2025 tally. Robbie Armit had two DNF’s in the heats before rectifying his issues to come home in 2nd in the meeting final, with Aiden McKinnon competing the top 3 – McKinnon disappointed to have been demoted to third in a race that seen multiple drivers docked.
The 2.0 Hot Rods completed their 2024/25 National Points campaign with no further points meetings before the world final cut off - with the points resetting 1 month before their world championship. Jack MacLeod has been in excellent form since making the switch to the formula, and once more took a further two race wins as he keeps himself at the top of the track points championship. Keith Brown finished in second in each of the two heats, before claiming victory in the meeting final, whilst Charlie Hardie did enough to claim the 2.0 Hot Rod National Points Championship at the first time of asking, and being one of, if not the youngest driver in history to do so.
The Junior Productions seen around 20 cars take to the track once more, and the formula continued to showcase some excellent racing, with a few hair raising moments as well as the mix of experience often shone through. A stop start evening with a few dockings along the way, seen Callum Ritchie come away with a heat and final double, whilst Jack Baird also claimed a win. Jayden Barrie, Aiden Duffy, Liam Conway and Lewis Duffy all also showed good pace on the night, with all of them coming away with some good results.
The U-Pull-It 1300 Stock Cars completed the event, as they also took to the track for the final time ahead of the Specialist Roofing British Championship over the 10th and 11th May. The star graded drivers found the going difficult as they tried to reel in some very quick drivers starting in front of them – Kevin Graham took his first win in the formula since graduating from Ministox, whilst Martin McCaffery claimed victory on his birthday too, before Jamie Stewart won the final ahead of McCaffery and Joshua Machin.
