A five formula line up on Saturday seen the 2.0 Hot Rods take centre stage, with the Ninja Karts, Superstox, Stock Rods and CC Rods all also in action.

The 2.0 Hot Rods raced in their 2022 Scottish Championship event on Saturday night, with some great close battles witnessed throughout the evening. Mark Dews made the perfect start, and it looked to be in with a shout of the Scottish Championship as well - leading the way for the majority of race, despite being under persistent pressure from reigning champion, Jason Secker. Keith Brown and James Morris were lurking consistently in the lurches of the lead two as well. Secker pressurised the Mark Dews car throughout the race, and was never any more than a couple of car lengths away - and it looked like he almost found a gap on a couple of occasions, with Dews doing his utmost to hold on. As the laps wore on, back markers would soon come into the mix. Both Dews and Secker carefully moved through them, though were unstuck when they came across Samantha Ross. Ross backed off into the corner and took an inside line, both Dews and Secker found themselves on the rear bumper of the 648 car. The trio entered the home straight and Samantha defended a solid inside line, Dews moved to the outside, and Secker closed up behind the 648 car. Secker went for a gap between Ross and Dews, but the gap wasn\'t quite big enough and contact was made on both 178 and 648 - 178 finding himself sideways as he approached turn 1, with 648 finding herself out of shape and running the infield kerb into turn 1. Secker would move through into the lead of the race, just holding on from Brown and Morris behind, and would go on to open up the gap somewhat to the chasing paid in the remaining stages, whilst Mark Dews dropped back the order as a result. Keith Brown, who crossed the line in second place would be confirmed the winner, with Secker being dropped a couple of places for the perceived infringement.

The Ninja Karts battled it out for their JusBounce shield, with a slight change of format to the norm, as the top points scorer on the night would take the shield. A non-points scoring Whites and Yellows race would start the night, followed by 2 reverse grid (within grades) heats and a meeting final. Jayden Lee Jeffrey continued his impressive form in the Ninja Karts as he swept to a commanding victory in the whites and yellows race, with Lucas Whyte again finding some form on the night after a difficult couple of months for the youngster. English visitors Clark Ferris and Jaxon York both looked right at home at Lochgelly Raceway, with Ferris taking victory in the opening race in a convincing manner, whilst Jaxon ground out a fifth place finish for his efforts. Dougie Kidd was the best of the Scottish drivers in heat 1, bringing his kart home in second place, ahead of Jayden Lee in 3rd. Heat 2 would see Ferris caught up early on, though battled back through superbly to take a second place finish behind Dougie Kidd. York finished in third place in another great result for the English visitor. The meeting final would see the youngsters lined up in grade order, based on the points they scored in the two heats - with the top point scorer to the front of their grade. A tie between Kidd and Ferris would see Ferris come out on top of the heats with the fastest lap splitting the two drivers. The meeting final would see Ferris and Kidd embark on a brilliant race, with next to nothing between the pair. Kidd looked to have the beating of Ferris, but once ahead, Ferris charged back and re-took the position from Kidd, with Kidd then doing the same.. and Ferris again taking the lead as the battle intensified. Kidd again closed down Ferris and a slight coming together with the pair would see Ferris spin out of contention and down the field. Kidd would go on to take the win, and the JusBounce shield as a result, with Shevill and Whyte finishing in second and third respectively. An unlucky Ferris would battle his way back to fourth position, whilst Katie Lee Smart also put in a great drive to finish in fifth, despite spinning in the opening laps of the race.

The CC Rods were back with us for the second consecutive week, and as has become the norm for the formula, provided some great racing throughout the night, with little between many of the cars. Jack Robertson and Shane Allen took the wins on the night - with Robertson taking a heat and final double which will see him upgraded to blue grade for the next meeting. Shane Allen took his first win of the season in the second heat of the night. It was a difficult night for the red graded drivers, as they all found it difficult to come through the competitive field of cars. Lee Scott and Ian Christie took away the best results, with Christie being the best performing star grade on the night. Lee Scott looks to have outscored rival Kyle Hutchison as the pair battle it out for the points championship.

The Stock Rods and Superstox were both down on numbers, with various drivers having work commitments, or were on a holiday. The Superstox seen Aaron Riddell and Dean Johnston dominate the race wins, but Adam Low put in another strong performance, picking up another good haul of points. Paul Mackie and David Lumsden both picked up some good places from the white grade, whilst Ciaran Adams had issues with his car throughout the night. Siobhan Martin took a heat and final double in the Stock Rods, whilst Rhys Forrest took a win in a heat too following on from some good performances of late.
