Charity Event Success
It was the final event of the stock car season at HRP Lochgelly Raceway on Saturday 9th November. It was a cold, but dry day (mostly) with events getting underway early in the afternoon. Several passengers were able to take to the track with contributions going into the charity fund. The passengers all had a blast, with almost all coming away with a superb adrenaline filled experience. Many thanks go to the drivers that gave up their time, added extra seats and safety features to their cars to make it happen. Our annual, charity races also took place – a ladies race and mechanics race for the 1300 Stock Cars, an adults race for the Ministox and a mechanics race for the Superstox formula with all drivers contributing to the charity fund in order to take part.
There were some fantastic amounts raised – Penny Andrews, Noleen Thompson and Bethany Kilday amongst the top contributors on the day – but each and every participant contributed excellently, and are all thanked endlessly, as over £9,000 was raised to be split between good causes – Cash For Kids, Camerons Journey, SAMH and Sands.

The racing was excellent throughout the event with the Ninja Karts showcasing brilliant racing with 30+ drivers in attendance from throughout the UK and Ireland as they battled for their Scottish Masters. Former World Champion, and current English Open Champion, Mason Carberry had some excellent battles with Rory Wilson and Charlie Weston throughout the evening with little between any of these three – with Jayden Jeffrey in the mix regularly too! Oakley Grief made his debut in the formula and took to it excellently, scoring some good results in the process. Rory Wilson took the win in the Scottish Masters race, with Mason Carberry 2nd and Charlie Weston 3rd. A big thank you to all race teams for attending!

The Superstox also seen a few visiting drivers – Jake and Harry Sturt, Dan Cole and Callum Kelman joining us, whilst Danny Whyte made his debut in the formula having made the switch from 1300 Stock Cars. The Lochgelly Masters was up for grabs on the night, and our English visitors took some catching – Dan Cole claiming a 2nd place in heat 1, whilst Jake Sturt took the win in heat 2. Aaron Riddell continued his good form as he took a heat and final double, claiming the Lochgelly Masters in the process.

The U-Pull-It 1300 Stock Cars were in strong numbers as they completed their season, with around 25 drivers in action on the day. National Hot Rod World Champion, Robert McDonald made an outing, whilst Stock Rodder, Sean Naismith also made an appearance. Former 2l Saloon driver, Kyle Irvine had a shot in one of Gary Nicholls’ cars, whilst Amanda Rae completed the full meeting too. Fraser Clark was back on form having found the issue with his car that he has had in the last few months. Fraser took a heat and final double – winning the Michelle Freck Memorial for his efforts, whilst Sean Naismith drove excellently to claim victory in the 2nd heat of the night.

The ORCi Ministox were the final formula in attendance, with Jack Jones a welcome visitor. The youngsters provided mouthwatering action throughout the day with very little between several drivers, allowing for lots of great racing. Dougie Kidd, Stuart Shevill, Rhys Kelly, David Philp, Ollie Sime and Ethan Gemmell were all regulary in contention. Race wins on the night went the way of Rhys Kelly in the opening heat, whilst Stuart Shevill took the win in heat 2, before Ethan Gemmell took his first win of the season at Lochgelly in the meeting final.

A big well done to all of our charity race winners too – Emma Muir took the win in the ladies 1300 Stock Car race, overcoming Penny Andrews in the closing laps.
