In a night that seen some torrential downpours and tree splitting sunshine, it certainly mixed up the racing with ever changing track conditions. Southern visitor Gary Chisolm took a double in the Superstox as he put in another strong Scottish performance! It was welcoming to have Jordan Aylward and Gary Chisolm make the trip north in the Superstox formula as they get some track time ahead of their European Championship on the 14th and 15th June, whilst Dean Johnston and Stewart Crookston made their first outings of the 2025 season. Craig Stephen has been making good progress in the formula, and was extremely unfortunate not to come away with a win on Saturday, as he found himself well ahead with only a couple of laps to go in heat 2 – only to get caught up with back markers and spinning out of contention. Gary Chisolm took a heat and final double, whilst Aaron Riddell took a win in the second heat. RS Motors put up a tyre for the top point scoring white or yellow graded driver, with Craig Stephen taking away that for his efforts.
The Scrapco Metal Recycling Ninja Karts started off the event with there whites and yellows race – a race designed to give the lesser experienced drivers some additional track time, and a boost in confidence. It was an excellent race for the lead, with Rudi Arcari and Louie Hendry battling in close contention for much of the race, with Arcari doing well to hold off the Hendry kart to take the win. Louie Hendry would go on to take the win in heat 1 ahead of Johnny Wheeler and Alix Martin – All three drivers having an excellent night and scoring well in each of the races, with Wheeler taking the win in the meeting final. Heat two seen Rory Wilson come out on top, finishing ahead of Martin and Wheeler. The meeting final was a hard fought race with a couple of talking points along the way, in amongst some great close racing. Wheeler took the win ahead of Hendry and Arcari.
Teri Linden debuted her new Stock Rod and was immediately on the pace with it – as she has been much of the 2025 season. Lennon Grant made his first outing of the year on Saturday, whilst James Halkett made a return having missed out the last couple of meetings. The Stock Rod formula provided some great racing over the course of the evening – the changing track conditions certainly mixed things up, with drivers trying different lines, and different techniques to try and overtake each other. Linden crossed the line in first in the opening heat, though, was penalised for contact which dropped her down to third with Fraser Anderson inhering the race win. There would be no mistakes in the following races though, as Linden swept to victory in the following two races, whilst James Halkett had his best meeting of the season, scoring well and coming away with a runners up spot for his efforts in heat 2.
The Junior Productions were in good numbers once more, with over 20 cars taking to the track, with Maia Thompson making her first outing of the season. With the track conditions, there was always the fear that this could be a messy meeting for the formula – however, the drivers predominantly coped well and adapted throughout to have some excellent racing – with a few moments along the way!! Liam Conway took the win in the opening heat, whilst Lewis Duffy took the win in heat 2, before Marley Montgomery claimed victory in the meeting final – his first win in the class, ahead of Duffy and Conway.
The National Hot Rods were in attendance for the final time ahead of their World Championship in July. Paul Cusack made his first outing, though, continued to have some engine issues that seen him retire early from the event. Ian Donaldson also found himself with issues before heat 2 got underway, which also forced him onto the sidelines. Ethan Doull claimed victory in heat 1, with Gordon Alexander going on to take victory in heat 2 and the meeting final. Gordon Alexander claimed the Scottish series points title in the process, and will take the silver roof into Ipswich.
