It was an eventful Friday night at Lochgelly Raceway with more great on track action.

The Ministox were out in force, with just under 30 cars turning up on the day – with numerous drivers that weren’t booked in included. There were plenty of talking points, drama and some great racing throughout the night from the youngsters as a result, with several yellow flags throughout. Heat 1 would see Kevin Graham spun on the apex of turn 4, with the yellow flags brought out just as the pack arrived. A few further drivers were caught up, but were able to regain their positions with their involvement coming after the yellow flags were called for. Charlie Hardie would take the victory ahead of Jake Wilson and the in-form Charlie Burgoyne. Heat 2 would be another stop-start race with a couple of yellow flags along the way, most notable for a rollover on the back straight involving 388 Cole Ford. Jake Wilson would claim victory, with Rachel Kidd and Rhys Kelly completing the top three. The meeting final would again be another entertaining race, with plenty of cars on track. Cole Ford would make it back out on track following his rollover, and in a race that pretty much went flag to flag following an opening lap restart, it seen the lower graded drivers battle it out for glory as the star’s struggled to make headway. Eevie Ford and Shaun Boyle led the pack for much of the race before being overcome in the closing laps. Rhys Kelly would take his first win of the season at Lochgelly, with Cole Ford and Charlie Hardie rounding out the top three.

The 1300 Stock Cars were again in great form – their final showing at Lochgelly ahead of their European Championship weekend on the 3rd and 4th June. Englishman Luke Gordon joined us once more as he gains valuable track time ahead of the European weekend. This was the third time this season Luke has joined us, and he would be pleased to take away a couple of third place finishes for his efforts. Owen Bonner made his debut in the formula and seemed to be enjoying himself, as he clattered the wall and almost every car on track throughout the night – whether it be deliberately, or just a lack of car control is open for debate, but he was certainly entertaining to watch! Fraser Clark was a driver on a mission though, as he continued to get back to his best following a slow start to the season. A hat-trick of race wins will have left the 668 driver in a confident mood ahead of the European weekend!

The CC Rod were the final formula in attendance, and again, provided some good non-contact racing throughout the evening. Andy Farely made an outing in the Steven Adair car, whilst Kevin Connor also made his return to racing. Both drivers made impressive starts to their CC Rod seasons, with Farely taking victory in the opening heat of the night, and Connor taking victory in the second heat. John Gorman had a night to forget though, as he found himself being collected by a couple of cars after a coming together with Gregor Whyte in the opening heat – this incident resulted in some damage to the 195 Gorman car, which ultimately ended his night of racing. The meeting final would be another competitive race – Lee Scott who found himself down to the blue grade for the first time in over a year, would be the one to claim victory – finishing ahead of Gregor Whyte and Andy Farely.

We are back to Saturday racing his weekend as we host the 2023 Service Central Ninja Kart Championship of the World, alongside the ProStocks Scottish Championship, Superstox and 2.0 Hot Rods. The action gets underway at 5.15pm!
