It was a frantic night of racing on Saturday 24th May with lots of on track incidents!

The ProStocks were in good numbers with around 25 cars taking to the track for the Graeme Boyle Memorial event. Despite the large number of cars starting the race, only 14 drivers completed the distance. Owen Bonner hooked things together nicely on the night, as he swept to a commanding victory in the memorial race, with Paul Barron and Rachel Kidd not getting anywhere near the run away leader. Graham Osborne, Callum McIvor and Darren Rae all made their first outing of the season in the ProStock formula, as the numbers continue to flourish in the budget formula. Heat 2 was another lively affair, perhaps even moreso than the first race, with only 6 cars completing race distance! No sooner than the green flag dropped, there were cars spinning out, bumpers going in, and cars bouncing over kerbs – and that was the trend for the duration of the race! Bonner steered clear of all the trouble though, and would go on to take his second race win on the night – pushing him immediately upto the yellow grade, with Lee Kopacz and Becki Ritchie completing the top 3.

The youngsters in the ORCi Ministox never really fail to disappoint, with excellent racing almost guaranteed from the youngsters. We welcomed Northern Irish visitor Casey Lee with us, and he looked to have good pace in what was his first outing of the season at Lochgelly. Lana Middler has been in impressive form, and is arguably one of the most improved drivers across the season so far, and she took a deserving victorying the opening heat, holding on to a last lap push from Jayden Roff with Ben McLellan completing the top three. Heat 2 see Casey Lee come to a halt midway through the race, which seen the race paused whilst the youngster was seen too, and was thankfully up and walking around shortly afterwards. Jayden Roff took the race win ahead of Ben McLellan – who had a much better meeting this week than he did last time out here at Lochgelly – with Stuart Shevill Jnr completing the top 3.

The U-Pull-It 1300 Stock Cars were down on numbers somewhat, but the drivers in attendance did there best to put on a show, with some hard fast stock car action. Joshua Machin used the front bumper to maximum efficiency has he steam rolled his way through the pack to take victory in the opening heat, before Scott Smith took the win in heat 2, with Charlie Henry finishing just behind.

The National Hot Rods seen Ethan Doull make his first outing of the season, and he was immediately on the pace. Despite dropping back in the opening heat, he soon found his rhythm and caught the pack ahead, before going on to claim victory in heat 2. Keith Chesher drove a solid race in heat 1, as he held off Alexander, Robertson and co to take the victory.

The Rookie Bangers were the final formula in attendance, and despite low numbers, the drivers in attendance didn’t hang about with some heavy hits in their only race – Jamie George and Douglas McConnachie found the wall early in heat 1, with both cars coming away worse for wear, whilst Ryan Martin took victory ahead of Paul Barron.
We’re back in action on Saturday 31st May – The Superstox, National Hot Rods, Stock Rods, Junior Productions and Ninja Karts all take to the track.
