It was the U Pull It 1300 Stock Car Scottish Championship on Saturday 20th September at Lochgelly Raceway, whilst the Rookie Bangers completed their campaign as the drivers chase World Final qualification.

The 1300 Stock Cars had four races on the night, with their first race being the Scottish Championship which was a random grid draw. Joshua Machin drew pole position and was the early race favourite. A poor start though seen him drop back, though he never gave up and went in with a few big hits as he tried to move aside those ahead of him. Callum Sturrock drove well and let the race in the early stages before some of the star drivers came through. Kyle Strachan and William Wallace were in the thick of the action as the pair put the bumper in hard on each other throughout the race. Jamie Stewart soon moved into the lead of the race and never really looked back – though Craig Haxton kept the gap consistent, he didn’t get close enough to stick the bumper in, whilst Gary Nicholls came through for a third place finish. Joshua Machin claimed the win in the first hat, pipping Charlie Henry to the win on the last lap, whilst Jamie Stewart claimed heat 2 before Callum Sturrock took the win in the meeting final.

The Junior Productions raced in the series final of the GNR series. With 23 cars taking to the track, it was a busy track for the youngsters in dry, fast conditions. The lower graded drivers are proving extremely difficult to overcome of late, and that was the case once more on Saturday as Leeland Dearn and Bella Brown claimed the race wins on the night. Candice Smart did enough to claim victory in the GNR series, and will walk away with a nice voucher.

The Rookie Bangers seen a few drivers turn up that weren’t booked in, boosting the numbers somewhat. Heat 1 seen Jay Byram’s World Qualification hopes put to bed as he found himself spun around and was collected head on by Keiran Tweed – putting an end to both drivers nights of racing. Long distance traveller, Ashley Rumary took away a race win for his efforts in heat 1, whilst Ryan Martin and Paul Barron both also took a race win. The positions are finalised, and it is now a wait to see how many seeded entries we’ll have for the World Final come November.

The CC Rods seen three different race winners on the night in a highly competitive night of racing. Natalie Mason made a return to action, whilst Hollie Ritchie made the switch to the CC Rod formula. Graham Pow took the win in the opening heat before Baillie Glencross took the win in heat 2, before Ian Donaldson raced to victory in the meeting final ahead of Graham Pow and Kevin Donaldson.

The ProStocks completed the line up with a somewhat diminished field after a busy few months of racing for the formula. Kai Johnson took to the track for the first time in the formula and struggled for reliability, however, looked to show promise in the laps that he completed on the night. Heat 1 seen a coming together between Ina Christie and Ryan Martin which resulted in both cars suffering damage and hampered their progress – this handed the initiative to Paul Barron as he chases the National Points – Barron went on to claim a hat-trick of race wins in a dominant display. Christie & Martin are going to have to start putting the bumper into Barron as they looked to take the fight to Paul Barron in the points championship.
