It was a fast paced and exciting night of racing on Saturday 18th October at HRP Lochgelly Raceway with five formula in action.
The Scrapco Metal Recycling Ninja Karts were racing in their annual Autism Awareness event with M90 Motorsport, and it was good to see a couple of visiting drivers join us for the occasion. George White and Jaxon Stone were the two visiting drivers that made the trip north to join us. The evening started with the whites and yellows race for the formula, which was won by Harley Wilson. Alix Martin and Rudi Arcari completed the top 3. Things are very close at the top of the Ninja Kart points charts with Henry Hunn and Rory Wilson neck and neck in both the track and national points at the moment. Heat 1 on Saturday seen an eventful race with a couple of race cautions for stricken karts. This enabled the experienced drivers to close in on the lower graded drivers and take full advantage as a result – Rory Wilson, Henry Hunn and Alfie Shevill completed the top 3 in the opening heat. Heat 2 seen Rory Wilson, Harley Wilson and Jayden Jeffrey complete the race in the top 3. The meeting final was another exciting race with little between many of the drivers. Blair Innes has been on the pace of late and that was once more the case on Saturday as he challenged throughout the night, matching the likes of Hunn, Wilson, Jeffrey and Shevill. A few incidents during the race seen the result differ to as the drivers crossed the line, with Rory Wilson, Harley Wilson and Jayden Jeffrey coming away as 1st, 2nd and 3rd. It was great to see some of our new drivers in the formula produce some good performances - Finlay Hutchison, Denni Farrell and Harry Ford all looked to show some really good pace.
The National Hot Rods joined us for the final time in 2025, and it was Barry Stephen who was the dominant driver this time out, as he became the latest driver to complete at hat-trick of race wins in the formula this year. Ian Donaldson had issues with his car and didn’t participate in heat 2 nor the meeting final as a result.
The CC Rods have had a good season, and with just one further meeting to go, there is still all to play for in the formula. Robert Conway missed out on Saturday due to other commitments, but remains in the hunt for the points championship with Lee Scott just ahead. The Scottish Championship for the formula next time out could determine how this plays out! On Saturday passed, the racing was very close amongst the front running drivers – Alec Cunningham, Lee Scott, Kevin Donaldson and Ian Donaldson all fought excellently throughout the night with a few moments between them all! Hollie Ritchie found her feet in the class as she raced to victory in both heats, whilst Brooke McMullan returned to form as she took away a runners up spot in the second heat as well.
The open wheeled Superstox formula seen ‘Benji on fire’, as he raced to a superb double heat win on Saturday – He’s waited a while for these wins, but like buses, two came at once! Gary Chisolm paid us a visit once more, whilst Mark Adair made his debut in the formula in the ex Paul Mackie car. Bryan Forrest moved to the top of the National Points charts with 2nd place finishes and a win in the meeting final. There were good performances from some of the less experienced drivers too – Mirran Adams and Mick Taylor both showing good pace in each of the three races.
The ProStocks completed the line up, and there were three different winners on the night. Paul Barron took the win in heat 1, with Paul McNulty Jnr taking the win in heat 2, before Lee Kopacz took the win in the meeting final. Barron moved further ahead in the National Points, though, it looks like it will be difficult for him to catch Ryan Martin in the track points now with just one further meeting remaining for the formula.
